Thin but Sturdy Sheets – Perfect for Crafting and Laser Projects
I picked up this 5-pack of 12x12 balsa/basswood sheets, and they’ve been excellent for lightweight projects. At 1/16" thick, they’re thin enough to cut easily with a craft knife or laser cutter, but still strong enough to hold shape without crumbling. The sheets are smooth and consistent across the pack, with very little warping. I’ve used them for stencils, model building, and small engraving projects, and they take detail well. The size makes them versatile for both hobby work and laser cutting experiments. Pros: Thin, lightweight sheets that cut cleanly Smooth, even surface ideal for engraving and painting Consistent size and quality across all five pieces Great for stencils, models, or DIY crafts Cons: At 1/16", they’re too thin for heavy-duty projects (better for light crafts) Being natural wood, some minor grain variation is expected Overall, these sheets are a solid option for hobbyists, laser users, or anyone needing thin, workable wood panels. Good quality and value for small projects.

Nice and flat and easily cut with utility knife
Worked perfectly to make replacement blades for one of those Christmas candle carousels. Grandson knocked over the original and broke a few blades. This was correct thickness and simple to cut with a utility knife. Wood was nice and flat and no warped pieces in the pack. Parts that I made remained flat as well

More then just airplanes
Great value for some real nice wood that has a million uses in scale modeling. Easy to cut and work with.

1 inch too wide for cricut! Have to hand cut first!
Wood is pretty good quality. Cuts decently. However... cricut won't cut anything over 11 inches wide when it comes to wood.... and this is 12 inches... so every single board i have to load requires that i cut 1 inch off the side..

Will not work with Cricut Maker
If you are getting this to make projects with your cricut- it will not work. I wasted a whole sheet attempting to cut this with my cricut maker. First cut I selected balsa wood 1/16 (which is what this claims to be) and it barely did a thing. Then I chose 3/32 and it looked deeper. I couldn’t get the stencil out and when I cracked the board to see- I could tell that it was not even halfway cut through. I may try to do it again and do a second “cut” on top (which is a total of 8 passes!) but overall it’s been a waste of time and money. This seems way too dense to be balsa. Also it is very obviously not 12x12. Closer to 11.5x11.5
