I could smell it before I ever opened it. It smells nice to be sure, it's just very strong. I do like that it's concentrated so I get a lot of use out of the bottles. I keep a bottle mixed up and use it to wipe down the bathrooms and trashcans. I haven't used it on my hardwood floors so I can't speak to it working on them.
