I like everything about this except that I've got a bit of algae covering the lens making it difficult to read the temperature. There are holes to allow water in the stem to make it float vertically in the water and algae has set up home inside the thermometer. I can read the temperature, it's just not as clear as I'd like. Maybe it needs a little redesign? Works well.

Why did you choose this product over others?:Ordered this thinking it was a rectal thermometer. Much too large. Good in the bath though.

Not bad, but there are better on the market for similar price
I bought this thermometer to use to measure the temperature of my local lake, and I permanently installed it on a buoy. At first it was fine, but over time the algae started to find a home inside it and it got to the point where the thermometer was unreadable. It was also not easy to clean inside it without dislodging the thermometer itself which is just superglued onto the back of the casing. This thermometer would be fine if used in a chlorinated swimming pool, but I replaced this with a digital thermometer for the lake for similar price, and that worked much better.

Rope needs to be longer
Thermometer is great but the rope could do with being longer so it can be looped around pool steps.
