After 4 belts in 1 month I figured it out one of the springs was missing and the previous owner used a screen door spring for the other

The old one broke and well, with all the parts in this here contraption you cannot mow grass without this one part. Well, it went on quick enough. Now back to the yard work.Cheers

When I saw these listed under John Deere parts, I wondered why anyone would ever need to have these around … until the tensioner spring broke on my JD LA 145 lawn tractor. Once it breaks, the mower deck won’t run at all. You don’t need to take the deck off to fix it (I didn’t realize until I watched on YouTube). Lucky for me, the spring broke right at the end of the hook, so I was able to fashion a new hook with a pair of pliers, but if it broke anywhere else, I would have been toast for a few days until these arrived. They are just right - with two different hook ends, one for the tension wheel and the other (the rounded end) for the hole in the deck.

This spring looks just like the OEM one for my Cub Cadet tractor. This goes on the tensioner pulley on the 54" mower deck. Seems to be good quality and has been working for a few weeks now with no fail.

The UDC Parts 08300507 is a perfect replacement for my Ariens IKON XD52 idler tension spring. The design of the Ariens springs with flexible end(s) is new to me. I think the design is a great improvement over rigid end springs in that it allows for some of the vibration to be absorbed. This spring is an exact fit for my IKON XD drive belt tensioner spring. This is my first experience with the UDC Parts brand. It is certainly convenient ordering online and having it delivered as my local dealer didn't carry one. I'll be using UDC Parts in the future for my Cub Cadet mower too.

These springs from UDC Parts are a good match for the blade engage lever spring on my Craftsman mower (photo). Glad to see these available, since I had little luck finding them on parts listings and had ended up heating and bending to put a new hook on the end of a broken spring. Just the thing for a quick and easy repair of something frustratingly simple, but that will keep the blade from engaging. Quick to get back up and mowing in little time with these on hand.
