Surprisingly salty and surprisingly tasty
Authentic Umeboshi made only with salt and plums. Extremely salty and extremely tasty. They are not cheap but consider they are imported I think they are reasonably priced also. We have been repeatedly buying.

Salty & Sour
They are a bit salty but they taste really good. Because they’re so salty, I only eat one at a time

Salty, Salty, Salty!
This is no at all what I expected. While there is some small plumb flavor in these, it is almost totally ruined by the salt. Salt, salt, salt. It's like eating pure salt. I got some 2nd rate Kim Chi that was over salted to the point of where I could not taste much but the salt. I tried a bite of that after one of these plums and it was a relief. Still salty, but not as bad as this umi product.I am not a low-salt guy, in fact, I am used to too much sodium, but these things are AWFUL.I read about this Umeboshi and they talk about people sucking on the stone because the flavor is so good.Sorry, but there is just about no flavor except salt. Salt flavor with a hint of plum.I tried using them in small amounts in sushi or in a rice bowl. You have to chop it really fine to get it small enough that one piece doesn't overpower the entire flavor of the sushi or rice bowl. When you do this, the plum flavor is just gone. Undetectable.I don't think this is the way Umeboshi plums are supposed to taste.I have had good kimchi, and I ferment my own vegetables, and I love dill pickles and olives and all those things. This product just tastes like salt.

Very salty, but...
I like the softness of the umebosi and the amount of shiso. However, compared to another brand I have used, Eden is much too salty for me. I found a workaround online and am currently soaking the plums and shiso (after draining all the liquid) in a bowl of water. Soaking for 12 +/- hours is supposed to reduce the saltiness. I put the bowl in the fridge and will leave it overnight and drain the next morning. If it's still too salty, I'll repeat and hopefully have something I'll enjoy.

Perfect flavor, traditionally made
I eat only foods that are natural and without additives that are harmful and unnecessary. This is made with only the plums, leaves, and salt. How much better can it get? It is pricey but it's at least worth it. I can't find other options made with the same quality.

Good salty sour fruit jam taste. Eat 1/2 at a time
I enjoyed the tart salty jam like taste to this salted plum/apricot. I read a lot of cooking recipes for this and watched YouTube videos on how to eat this, I've personally enjoy it. I like tart and sour snacks , if you enjoy a salty sour slightly fruity taste you would enjoy this. Personally I have Gerd/ acid reflux stomach Problems so after eating a whole plum, my stomach was hurting a little afterwards but that's just because I'm sensitive to acidity, I thought this product might help with that but it didn't for my personal case. I would say it would help with normal after dinner digestion but only eat like half of it. A lot of people said it's too salty but this is really only if you enjoy salty sour fruits. It would really be good with rice or chicken other than that on its own is good to me, I also like to problems so after eating a whole plum, my stomach was hurting a little afterwards but that's just because I'm sensitive to acidity, I thought this product might help with that but it didn't for my personal case. Edible, if ...
To quote Philip J Fry, "That's the saltiest thing I ever tasted, and I once ate a big heaping bowl of salt."Out of the package, these were inedible salty. They actually burned. However, I found that rinsing them off significantly improved them. I still won't buy more, but at least I can sort of enjoy the ones I have.
