Great portable rest.
This is really great. This rest can go with you anywhere, and as long as you have a solid flat edge, you have a guitar rest. The wood is really nice looking, and the clamp opens way up, even over my super thick Ikea table. The velcro strap and inside velcro pad is the perfect solution to keep your guitar from sliding away. It now lives in my gig bag, and means I don't always have to bring my portable stand.

This is what they said it was, I just thought what I read would be better.
The media could not be loaded. I really wanted this product to be great. I teach lessons in a small space, and I wanted a way to set my guitar down quickly and get to it quickly as needed. It does this, kind of. The problem is that it requires you rest the guitar on the ground. So I needed to get something safe that I could set my guitars down on. It also holds it, but if you bump it, it can dislodge and fall. They have added velcro that can go around your neck to hold it in, but then that is another step I have to take.I know, I kind of sound like a baby, but I have very limited time and the delay of velcro and the potential accidental drop make this something that is a little less than I had hoped.I will say, that since the video, I took it to my office at work. The screw clamp works better on the thinner desk, and the carpeted floor gives me some protection. I also only play during breaks, so I don't need to pick it up and put it down all the time, so the Velcro works. So in the right setting, this is probably a 4-star product. It just is only a 3-star for what I wanted it for.

A bit of a safety net for us "proppers"
You know you shouldn't do it. You've probably been burned by doing it. Yet, you still do it. I do too. I'm talking about propping your guitar up against whatever is around versus using a real stand. This device is here for us "proppers," to help us keep our guitars from sliding off whatever we have propped them up against. This is a very sturdy clamp that has a padded neckrest on it. In theory, this will let us prop our guitars up against most tables with a much lower chance of the guitar sliding off. Does it work?Yes, with limitations. In my case, I'm using it on my computer desk. I record right at my desk and often need to set my guitar down to work on the computer. I don't put a guitar stand there because of all the other tripping hazards I have around the desk; I don't need one more. This does hold my guitar more securely than propping it up against the desk alone. The problem is, your guitar is still resting on the floor too, so it's not totally secure. It's still better than nothing, by a LOT. This did come with a strip of hook and loop fabric. I'm assuming the intention is to strap the guitar neck to this for additional security. This seems like an afterthought and they could have incorporated the hook and loop into the stand. There are also no instructions included. I think most people can figure it out without instructions though. The product description notes you can use it as a neck support when performing maintenance as well. I didn't try that as I have a cork neck support for working on my guitars. It seems pricy, given the materials, but, if it keeps your guitar from getting damaged, that's pretty invaluable.I like it and it certainly serves a purpose for me. I'll give it 4/5.
