Cuts home made bread like hot butter
Purchased a bread maker and none of our knives would cut the bread without ripping it. This knife cuts it like hot butter, it is an absolute must if cutting your own bread. Very good quality and very very sharp. Top marks and well worth the price.

Impressive!
I have purchased many bread knives over the years, always trying hard not to spend a fortune on any particular knife, sadly this has proved to be a false economy though, if I'd known what I know now, I would have just saved up and bought a far better knife the first time, hindsight can be a wonderful thing! What I can say about this purchase is that, thus far, I am very impressed! Yes, it's certainly not the cheapest, but saying that, it's also far from being too expensive. I have used it to cut very fresh, artisan bread and it has coped very well. Applying very little pressure and sawing away, sliced the bread evenly and as thinly as I wanted, without destroying the loaf! I like the extra length to the blade than all previous bread knives I've used. It feels well balanced too and obviously, nice and sharp. Even though this is strictly a bread knife, I actually tried it to carve a roasted joint of beef and it sliced that nice and thinly, an excellent result! Some other reviews have mentioned not liking the texture of the handle, but I don't have any issues with that at all. I pop mine in the dishwasher and it appears to be holding up well. I would say, considering the price paid for this bread knife, it is well worth buying, I am very impressed! Hopefully it will last, only time will tell, but certainly the best value bread knife I have ever bought and I've had quite a few!

Very glad I chose this one.
I have had this bread knife for a couple of months now, and it's one of the most pleasing purchases I've made in recent years. I read a lot of customer reviews of various knives before buying this and the general concensus that it's a good one were correct. I bake my own bread and wanted a good knife to make the most of my limited baking skills. This one surprised me firstly by how large and heavy it is, secondly by how easliy it cuts, even when making thin slices. It's got a good thickness to the blade, so it does not bend or flex and I cannot over stress just how sharp it is. The weight of the knife is more than I anticipated and another good feature of it, making it cut effortlessly. The handle at first glance looks large, but I have found it to be an exceptionally good grip, which is enhanced by the excellent texture of it. I doubt I shall ever need to replace this knife, but if I do, it will be with another one of these. I cannot speak to wither or not it is dishwasher proof as I don't have a dishwasher, but given the materials of it and the quality of construction, I cannot see any reason it would not be. If you are looking for a bread knife, to use each day, as I do, I believe you will be as happy with this one each time you use it, as I am when I take mine out of the kitchen drawer each morning and use it on my loveley homemade loaf.

Excellent sharp long bladed bread knife.
What a delightful bread knife. A good long blade (25cm), with the left side flat and the right side ground sway to give the cutting edge. It slices easily even through freshly baked soft bread with no pressure needed - the sharp teeth points bite into the bread, and the sharp scallops slice. A delight to use. I've only had it for a day, so I can't say how long it will stay stay sharp. But currently, I'm delighted. [Edit: September 2018. 18 months in, and in daily use, and it's still sharp enough to cut bread easily. It's not quite as sharp as when I bought it, so a little more care needs to be taken with very fresh bread. But I don't think I'll be replacing it just yet.] [Edit: March 2019. Two years in. It's still sharp enough for most bread, but not quite good enough for bread that's only been out of the bread maker for 30 minutes. Given the ridiculously low price, I'm getting another one.] [Edit: April 2022. After three years, the replacement is now also blunter than I'd like, although again, perfectly fine on most bread, just not on very fresh soft bread. So I've just ordered a third one - now on its way. It gets used multiple times every day. An excellent product. Well worth the 1.5p/day it averages out to! ] [Edit: July 2024: Still sharp, but no longer good enough for very fresh bread. Fourth one just ordered. Price unchanged at £13.66 from when I first bought one seven years ago! ]

Really impressed for the price
I've only recently purchased this knife so I can't speak for its longevity/durability, but initial impressions at least are excellent, it really seems to punch above its weight at the price point. It is very well made and solid in the hand and the blade has minimal flex and is very strong. Its the perfect length for slicing anything from ciabatta up to full size loaves (you may need something smaller for small loaves, buns, etc). The rubber grip is extremely comfortable and 'soft grip', not squishy but just enough give compared to cheap hard plastic, its ever so slightly rubberized. It cuts well, The rounded tip is a bonus, since a point isn't required for cutting bread and it makes handling and storage safer. All in all this is extremely impressive for the price point. If it has one failing it is that it perhaps doesn't cut quite as well as some of the very best bread knives, it does cut well but doesn't quite have that "effortless" cutting that the very best knives do - however for the price this is being very picky, it really is very good.

Excellent knife. Very sharp and cuts through bread and vegetables with no effort whatsoever. Amazing value for money, looks great, not too heavy. Handle is comfortable with excellent grip. Long sharp blade so be careful while using! Really happy with purchase.

Best bread knife out there
Best bread knife you can buy. Makes cutting sourdough a doddle. The only knife you should get.

Bought this because my old bread knife would not let me cut an even slice.the blade was too thin and would wander when slicing. After reading reviews I decided on this one. Night and day difference.this knife is solid and sharp .be careful I cut my thumb! The knife just feels good in my hand.im a men’s xxl hand. Don’t force the cut.,it takes a bit to start but once the cut starts it flows like butter just glides through . I made Japanese milk bread and French bread this cut them both with ease. No damage to the crumb no tearing just smooth slicing. Highly recommended.

This does so much more than slice bread. I find it to be superior to most slicers and carving knives (and even electric knives) when slicing a roast, smoked brisket, turkey breast, etc. It's good for slicing large tomatoes. After my chef's knife this is the one I use the most. I've had it for five years and it still hasn't dulled. But when it does get dull, no big deal. A new one is inexpensive.

Lighter than expected, but very sharp and cuts incredibly well. Highly recommend this knife. Seems to glide through the bread.
