A credible alternative to fish oil
This is an omega-3 fatty acid supplement that isn’t derived from fish oil. It makes sense, since there’s nothing inherently unique to fish oil that makes it the sole possible source of EPA and DHA. If you think about it, the reason why such supplements are so commonly derived from fish oil in the first place is that fish oil is a waste product from processing fish. That likely accounts for much of why fish oil is so cheap in comparison with this product. The rest is, unfortunately, what I’ll call the “vegan tax”. I don’t begrudge it so much in this case, market niches being what they are. At least we aren’t dealing with the markup on women’s cosmetics here. Softgels don’t really have a taste, but the smell is most definitely marine and vegetal. I didn’t notice any algae burps after consumption, nor did I notice any side effects. As expected from a specialty vegan supplement, it’s free of any of the usual negatives (GMOs and so on), and it’s manufactured in a GMP-certified facility with third-party testing. Being made in the USA is a plus as well. The result is a product that lives up to its marketing as a clean, vegan-friendly drop-in replacement for fish oil softgels. I’ll recommend it for offering that set of features at a more or less reasonable premium.

Quality algae based omega 3 supplement, but does not contain astaxanthin.
Of all the ways to get omega 3, I prefer algae due to the sustainability of it, but also when done well there is little to no taste to it. This omega 3 supplement has both DHA and EPA, but interestingly is missing astaxanthin. The supplement is a light yellow liquid in a gel capsule. The capsule is on the larger side, but I had no issues swallowing it. There is no odor or flavor to the supplement and I experienced no belching or bad breath from it. The capsules are in a plastic bottle with a plastic screw on cap that keeps it fresh. The quality of this supplement seems good and better than some other algae based omega 3 supplements I have tried. I experienced no issues taking it and like that it is made in a GMP certified facility in the USA, and is third party tested for unwanted ingredients (such as heavy metals, e. coli, etc.).

Good option if you can tolerate carrageenan
This is a reasonably priced, vegan option for omega 3. Easy to swallow and no aftertaste. The only thing is that some do not tolerate carrageenan well or want to avoid it.

Great vegan alternative, NO FISHY BURPS!
While this is a lower potency than most omega 3 supplements, if you’re vegan or simply can’t stand the disgusting fishy taste and burps from fish and krill oil versions, this is an EXCELLENT alternative! I didn’t even know there WERE alternatives to fish and krill for the omega supplements until this popped up, but I’m glad I found it! No more nausea from the disgusting fishy taste lingering for an hour after taking the pill! Will be returning for more!

Perfect for vegans, smells and tastes like the real thing
I'm vegan and am concerned that I don't get enough omega 3 fatty acids, which primarily come from animals. I've been taking lab tested algae oil for years, and these pills smell and taste just like that oil. Algae oil in general is not pleasant to smell or taste, and having them in pill form really helps. But keep that in mind. These pill have 310mg of DHA and 100mg of EPA, and I like how they're split out on the bottle. One pill a day should be plenty for most people, though I like to take two once in a while. In terms of price, these are priced well, especially given the quality, and if you can get a coupon.

Vegan omega 3 option!
This is a great way to be able to take your omega-3s without harming ocean life. The ratio of DHA to EPA is appropriate for most uses, and the total amount is on the lower end but probably sufficient for most people. The capsules are pretty small and easy to swallow, you only need to take one per day, and they do not smell bad, which is excellent for an omega-3 supplement. We love that these are vegan and made in the USA!

A vegan alternative
First I could not figure out what they meant by vegan fish oil replacement. Then it dawned on me that algae could be the key. And indeed that's what it is. Now I look much more favorable at this product. I have no problem taking this alternative with all the good stuff it comes with.
