Humanroots yam cream is super lush and only the necessities! Happy to find a limited ingredient yam cream! I’m super picky because of my lovely rosacea/acne/perimenopausal skin. The popular brands all contain stuff that’s bad for my skin!!! I’m actually shocked other brands have borax, alcohols, seed oils - none of which I want my body to absorb! I also can’t do almond oil due to a nut allergy. Welcome to my life! On to the specifics - fast shipping - it arrived within one day, bubble wrapped envelope - there’s a very subtle scent of honey & oat which may be from the chamomile and it quickly disappears within a few minutes after application. It spreads easily and seemed oily at first but then my skin soaked it up and was left soft and without residue! I will update my review after a few weeks to see if the yam is alleviating my hot flashes! If there was an option without yam, I would be lathering up my hands & feet this winter - it is so healing on my dry skin!

Postmenopausal and started having warm flashes again....... had used an expensive essential oil in the past but this was half the price and works like a charm. No need to use my 'menopause fan' at work any more! I love that it's organic & made in small batches. Will definitely recommend and purchase again.

This cream is magic! I am a 43 year old female. I was experiencing 3-8 hot flashes per day, and waking up at 3am, unable to fall back asleep. Within 12 hours of using this, that reduced to maybe one hot flash per day, and when waking up in the night I now go right back to sleep. I forgot to put it on one night, and regretted it at 3am when I couldn't fall back asleep... that's how I knew it was working, and not just a placebo effect. I bought this cream to help with insomnia. It might be helping some, specifically with returning to sleep on less challenging nights. I'm hoping for continued improvements. The improvement that I was not expecting is that my cycle was so much better after I started using it - fewer symptoms, less pain, etc. I was able to continue with my day more than I usually am. I'm hoping to see more improvements there too. Even if the improvements are subtle, I'll take them over more extreme measures. It's easy to use and it only takes a small amount so it should last a long time. And there's nothing wrong with a little shea butter on aging skin.

Someone recommended I use a wild yam cream for the hormone fluctuations I’ve been having for a few years (migraines, painful periods, terrible PMS), so I started my search and Human Roots appealed to me the most because of the clean ingredients list. I’m happy I did, because I adore this cream and intend to keep buying it. It smells delicious - citrusy with a sweet floral undertone (chamomile lavender vanilla, 3 of my favorite essential oils), and goes on thick and creamy (just a tiny bit). It smells so good, I feel like I’m putting on perfume. It’s been over 2 months as of me writing this, and I have improved from my symptoms. I have reduced pain and cramping intensity, and sometimes I even don’t know I’m getting my period (it has been painfully announcing itself for years). I recommend it to anyone willing to try.

Went from 5 to 0 stars. Can’t pick 0 though unfortunately. I bought a jar after much research of products for perimenopause/menopause symptoms. The first jar was amazing. It took some time but it worked! Hot flashes went from constant and none. Which was the main reason I made the purchase. The cream itself was great. Organic. Natural ingredients. Minimal next to no scent. Thickness was good. It was creamy and rubbed into the skin nicely. Easy to use and the size for the price, which wasn’t on sale was 100% worth it in my opinion. Got a second jar still great. Then ordered two jars on sale… NOT THE SAME PRODUCT! I do not recommend. Returning both new jars. The hot flashes are returning the cream isn’t creamy it doesn’t rub in there are chunks in it too that just don’t rub into the skin. they changed the ingredients. It’s not longer organic, they DID NOT update the product on Amazon either. Not surprising. I’ve attached photos. Sad. Now I’m back to square one. On the search for something that works. I doubt it’s handmade anymore. Seems like they sold and the quality paid the price. 1st pic original label. 2nd pic new label. 3rd-4th pics show the grittiness. It’s like trying to rub coconut chunks into your skin. Not good. I purchased originally due to limited organic ingredients. Not sure what I’ve stupidly rubbed into my skin unknowingly.

Ok if you have any idea your hormones might be off this is the product for you. It took two months of this to completely normalize my lady hormones. I now have short periods, completely pain free periods, little to no acne, I loose weight now, my drive is up, and pms symptoms are almost non existent. Life is good. You don’t have to be in menopause to use this. It’s helpful for all women. (Men too but I wouldn’t know)
