Very flavourful and strong
I am using Philips automatic espresso machine and I have tried many different brands decaf coffee, from Illy and Lavazza to Coffee Masters and even Amazon own brand (not bad for the price and better than many more expensive). I’ve read a lot of reviews regarding decaffeinated coffee and that because it’s been stripped from the caffeine, has less taste than caffeinated. I don’t know how true that is, but seems this brand proves that is about quality and perhaps less to do with caffeine. These are the best decaf beans I have tried and I will stuck with them. I usually have double espresso, set on a short ( 2 drops indicator)and with maximum beans (3 out of 3) and yet none of the other brands gave me any flavour. I have tried now on the espresso and coffee ( 3 beans and 2 drops of water setting ) and the flavour is full as can be. Very happy with the product and highly recommend.

Great quality
I entertain quite a few friends all coffee drinks at my home so I was excited to grind these up and see what their reactions were compared to the "instant" or post-grinded stuff from the supermarkets or the basic beans ive been using. Almost everyone said it was a fantastic flavour! we all found it was rather "funky" as it had a fruity flavour to it. I thought it would be more subtle but i found the flavour rather noticeable. I grinded it and used a cafetiere to filter, and my home started to smell like well rounded cafe. It has a long enough date but will be fully used up before then. the only reason i cant rate it any higher though is because its rather EXPENSIVE - i can find cheaper beans elsewhere

Fresh full of flavour and strong
Tried many different whole bean coffees and since I've found rounton I'm not changing to other brand. Coffe is always fresh ( sometimes comes 1 week after roasting) I like my coffe black and strong and this one is absolutely worth the price!

Sour and weak
First time buyer of this brand so I don't know if this was a bad batch or the particular variety is like that but my experience has been quite negative. - The espresso comes out quite "thin" and there is barely any crema. - Coffee tastes rather sour and weak. Iced espresso tastes like flavored water. - Beans are unusually small (just an observation)

Small hard beans, clean taste, but not full of flavour (SEE UPDATE)
Hmmm - not sure what to make of this coffee. I like a medium roast, a like fruity coffee, but I'm not taken taken with this. And neither was my wife. First of all the beans are small and fairly hard. I don't know what has done that, but I know it takes longer for my grinder to grind. Furthermore, it seems to go finer than the grind settings, and so for example grinding for V60 on my regular v60 setting produces a grind that slows the water down massively when I pour it on. Same for the espresso grind setting. I see this is part and parcel for certain types of coffee, but it's the first time I've come across it. Second - although the taste is clean and not 'dirty' it is a fairly lifeless coffee. I've tried espresso, flat white, aeropress and V60, and I haven't had a cup I've really enjoyed yet. Furthermore I find that it gives me acid reflux—which is not usually a good sign for a medium roast coffee for me. I expect that from a dark roast. So all in all, I'm not a fan. I might plough my way through it, but I'm not overly excited. Thankful it was for review—I would have been very disappointed if I had paid £33 for it. UPDATE I tried a second bag of beans from Rounton just to give them the benefit of the doubt. It was a blend—50% same beans as this one, 50% another. (Because it wasn't exactly the same beans—I can't do a straight comparison but read on) WOW—this was utterly different. Rich, fruity—exceedingly tasty. And that was only from the first attempt—no tinkering with grind sizes, or brewing methods, just my standard method, and out came a superb cup. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much after the first bag, but it was delicious. (And the beans were much easier to grind) Love it. All I can assume is that something happened in the roasting process of the other bag (or maybe a poor batch of beans)—but these guys know how to make coffee.

Try it for yourself to decide
What a treat to try out this delicious coffee. On opening the bag doesn’t immediately have the coffee hit smell. Yes it smells of coffee but not strongly. The beans are surprisingly small and rather grey in colour. We use a bean to cup machine and I think using small beans both gives a more intense flavour (as more fit in the grinding pod at once) and on the downside, they get used up quicker, making these an even more expensive coffee than one would first realise. The resulting Cremer is Ok, less than my usual brand (but then that is excellent). The taste is what my daughter described as a ‘high end treat’. It tastes and smells fruity. Coffee is a fruit of a plant but we don’t usually experience its fruitiness. I’m not sure that I like it the best but it is different from our usual and for that I really appreciate it. So, a conclusion…. A treat for every now and then but probably not my go to blend. But, keep up the good work guys, we appreciate the range of coffee suppliers popping up around the country.
