You just can't beat this gravy!
I was getting this in the larger packets on auto-delivery, until they stopped AD for that item. The packets were too large for me anyway, as it took a long time to use up one batch. Now I get these smaller packets and it's the same great product, only fewer servings per packet which works great when you are cooking for one or two.As to the gravy itself - oh man, this stuff is awesome! I've never had better country gravy (I just get the regular country gravy one - none of the variations) and I not only am a very good cook, but I've traveled extensively. It does not need one iota of seasoning added, so if you are making it for the first time do be sure to taste first before you add any salt or pepper.I find the easiest way to get a flawlessly lumpless gravy is to go ahead and put the cup of water in the pan to bring to a boil and then measure the rest of the water into either one of those Tupperware mix containers or even any jar/container with a lid (be sure to only use cold or cool water - NEVER hot water when you're going to shake it. Trust me, I learned this the hard way years ago). Then pour the gravy mix in, put on the lid and shake it really well. Then, when your water is boiling, slowly pour it into the pan and whisk continually. It might look a little foamy at first but rest assured it will blend beautifully to a lovely sheen. One more tip from the peanut gallery - One problem I had at first was that after I dished up what was going to be used the first time and left the pot on the stove to cool, so I could put it into an airtight container to store in the refrigerator, I noticed that it got this awful, truly awful, 'skin' on top. Well, there was no blending that in and it just made yuck into the nice gravy. To alleviate that problem, as soon as I've dished out what I'm going to eat immediately, I take a piece of cellophane wrap that's a little bigger than the diameter of the pot and lay it atop the pot. Then gently push the cellophane wrap down so that it is laying on top of the gravy and push it down like that all the way around the edges. When you're finished you will have the cellophane laying completely right on top of the gravy with no spaces. It's very easy and just takes a moment to do this. When it cools, and you are ready to store it away, just lift the cellophane from the gravy. It comes up very nicely with virtually no waste and no skin. Then you can pour it into your storage container, seal it up, and in the refrigerator it goes. It won't get the skin, after it's been cooled, so you're home free at that point and when you go to get more and heat it up it's perfectly smooth and nice. BTW, it heats up wonderfully in the microwave. I just put a serving size in a small, micro-safe, container and hit 'reaheat' on my microwave. I might have to stir and put it in for a few more seconds, but it nukes very well.

Edited - apparently got a "bad" batch.
I have been ordering this gravy from Amazon for over 2 years, a case at a time, and even wrote a review about how it was the best gravy ever (that review is on another listing for the product). For my husband and myself, a case lasts 3 to 4 months. Two weeks ago I used the last of my supply, and ordered another case. Received 2 days ago, and as is my habit, I opened several packages and emptied into a container, so that I can make the amount I need each time, which is sometimes more or less than what one package contains. I noticed immediately that it was just loaded with flecks of pepper, which it never has been before.Today I made biscuits and gravy. This gravy is totally different than what it used to be, and I do not like it at all. The pepper taste is extremely strong, it is absolutely horrible in my opinion. If I had wanted Pepper Gravy, I would have ordered Pepper Gravy in the first place. But I do not want Pepper Gravy, I want the same gravy I have been ordering all along (and yes, I did order the correct gravy, it says Country Gravy Mix on all the packages and the carton). I cannot imagine eating any more of this horrible stuff, we didn't even finish half of what I made today. So now I am stuck with 23 more packages of gravy mix that I can't use. Maybe I can give it away. To say I am disappointed doesn't even begin to cover it, I would never order this again. I would like to ask Southeastern Mills, why oh why, did you have to mess up a great thing?Edit 9-14-2015: I should have edited this before, but forgot until I got a comment. I have changed the 1-star to 4-stars. After I got this terrible batch, I contacted the company, and they swore the recipe had not been altered (only the packaging), that I must have gotten a "bad" batch (quality control?). So, they sent me a free case, which was very nice of them. It was way better than this one I bought, although it still had more pepper in it than all of the cases I had previously purchased. So I don't really believe that they had not altered the recipe. After having used at least 6 cases previous to this one, I know what it was like before. However, I solved the excess pepper problem by mixing 1 packet of Biscuit Gravy mix (which I don't care for by itself, because it is too bland, more like white sauce than gravy) with 4-5 packets of the Country Gravy mix in a container, and it made it better. The pepper was not too overwhelming then. I also have ordered the 4.5 oz. mix, instead of the smaller packages. It still has more pepper in it that it used to, but has never had the extreme excess that this one batch had. YMMV.

SOUTHEASTERN MILLS PEPPER GRAVY MIX
I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS PRODUCT, I KNEW WHAT I WAS GETTING BEFORE I ORDERED IT. BEFORE THE COVID PANDEMIC I BOUGHT IT AT THE LOCAL GROCERY ON A REGULAR BASIS, BUT THEN LIKE OTHER THINGS IT BECAME SCARCE AND HARD TO FIND. LUCKILY I CAME ACROSS IT ON AMAZON, I HAVE BOUGHT 2 CASES SO FAR, AND FOR LONG STORAGE I KEEP THEM IN THE FRIDGE AND THE FREEZER. I ALWAYS BUY THE PLAIN PEPPER GRAVY, I TRIED THE SAUSAGE FLAVOR ONCE AND DIDN'T CARE FOR IT. BUT IF I WANT TO MAKE THIS INTO SAUSAGE GRAVY I JUST FRY ABOUT 1/3 LB OF BULK SAUSAGE AND CRUMBLE IT IN WITH THE GRAVY. MY BUNCH LOVE IT OVER HOT BISCUITS.

The easiest and most delicious way to have gravy for whatever your need.
It is so handy to mix up a pan of gravy for breakfast biscuits or to put on mashed potatoes or country style steak and chicken. Great product and I would recommend this to anyone who love gravy.

One of the best White gravy mixes
We have been using this gravy mix for our sausage and gravy over biscuits for years. My family loves it and we have recommended it to our friends and family.

Peppered but with Sausage Flavor
Be careful you click on the right peppered flavor… as you might accidentally click the peppered that comes with a sausage flavor. Now I have 24 packages of gravy I cannot return because I didn’t see the tiny print on the package and no one will eat this flavor.
