Is "faux wool" polypropylene? What material/chemical substance non-skid backing made of?

The carpet is the same material as the bathroom carpets that are non-slip and washable. I love this carpet. I bought 4 so far. If my dog has an accident, I just throw it in the washer instead of trying to scrub it out or throwing it out. 100% worth the money.

If used for a rug when getting out of the shower, do I need to hang it to dry or will it dry on the floor?

Not sure. I use it in front of my vanity. I really don't think it is meant for the shower or bath, but again, I haven't used it for this. it is a GREAT rug, so soft, looks very expensive and washes and dries looking like new. Has a great backing on it. Hope this helps

Will this rug slip if placed on ceramic tile without a rug pad?

I can't really say if this rug will slip on tile without a rug pad because my runner rug I'm using is in my bedroom and I have it on top of carpet. If you read the description about this runner it says safety non slip rug and the only thing that I would suggest is try it out and see. I absolutely love this runner rug!!!

what is the backing made of?

Description says Polypropolene, but doesn't specify if thats the material of the top of the rug or the backing. It is a non-slip backing.
