Oishii!
Delicious! So happy to finally be able to taste natto again! I followed the instructions to rehydrate the natto over night and had it for breakfast with some rice, mixed with a bit of soy sauce and mustard, and it was just like the natto packs you can buy at the supermarket. Definitely a treat at this price though!

Makes Natto that tastes OK.
Bit expensive but if you can’t stand the taste and smell of wet natto, this dry stuff is quite tasty.

Nope nope nope!
I've been warned that NATTO was a acquired taste. I certainly have not acquired that. You're supposed to soak the beans for 3 to 4 hours in the fridge with a little bit of water. Drain them off and then they're ready to go. The texture was really quite unpleasant. The stringiness is like egg yolk mixed with washing up liquid. The beans themselves weren't too bad, but it's the goo that they're contained in that is really unpalatable. I don't know if this is a case for all that time, but I suspect it is, in which case I simply do not have the taste for it rather than it being an issue with this particular variety of natto. It's beans. Had a certain nuttiness to them and were certainly more solid than something like a baked bean. I would probably compare them to something like an uncooked tinned black eyed pea.

Not for me
These freeze dried NATTO beans taste awful in my humble opinion. I placed them in a bowl in the fridge just covered with water for four hours as recommended on the instructions. They hydrated by did not go as large as I was expecting and tasted of not that much apart from a strange metallic taste. They are also pretty expensive for the amount you get in a pack.

Certainly nice if you like natto but the convenience cost is steep
With my love of trying japanese things and the absolute buzz behind Natto's apparent health benefits it was about time I tried it and this noticeably provided the convenience to prepare in a no nonsense way, namely you rehydrate it in the fridge and use it later the same day which is obviously very easy. Unfortunately when you look at the various factors about this product (that tend to have increased cost) which are being advertised as superfood, being made for convenience and the use of freeze drying you can tell without even looking that it'd be very expensive even if you factor in the 1:4 weight ratio this apparently has from dried to rehydrated (so 280g equivalent).Thankfully like other soybean based things I was totally fine with it (and enjoyed it) including its rather unique gloopiness choosing to eat mine with rice as that just made the most sense to me, I certainly wouldn't have wanted to ever try them dry that's for sure. Perhaps it might be recommendable as a one time purchase to try out natto for the first time because of the convenience so you don't get a large amount from another source and end up wasting it but other than that its admittedly not that recommendable.

Outrageous price
The natto is delicious, but the price is utterly insane so I won’t be buying again.
