Our youngest loves Melissa and Doug toys; out of everything he has he still goes back to the ice cream and patisserie he got last year so we saw this and knew he’d love it. Great fun and some nice moving parts this time as well

Such a fun concept! Kids love it they are 3 & 5 and play chocolate cafes and love asking everyone what type of chocolate they want. It also has 2 little boxes in there too so they can pretend it’s a gift really sweet idea. Love!

I did initially think that this was at the high end price wise for a product like this, however any parent would tell you that with the Melissa & Doug name you have absolutely no doubt of the quality and standards of the products that you are buying. These are the kind of toys that can be passed down and played with for a long time to come, so then you think well actually it is worth splashing out the money if you can. It comes in this open style box so you can see exactly what you are buying and would make a great present for someone. The shop section of it is all wooden so built to last and the pretend play aspect of setting up a shop, making your own candy and selling it is something that I know my little one will absolutely love. Highly recommend.

The chocolate factory is an excellent toy. It is well made and feels strong and good quality. The idea is really fun, and the kids love making the chocolate treats. It is basically an assembly line where the chocolates need to be build by taking a base, adding the filling, and the top. There are levers and sliders to use to perform each step, as well as lots of different fillings and toppings to choose from. It is a great toy for kids who love to use a play kitchen and pretend play food.

La fábrica de chocolate de madera de Melissa & Doug ha sido un éxito para los pequeños en casa. Con tantas piezas y funciones para combinar, los niños pueden "preparar" sus propios dulces de una forma muy entretenida. Tienen bases, cubiertas y rellenos de colores que permiten mezclar y hacer muchísimas combinaciones. Además, el juego incluye detalles como una cinta transportadora que se desliza y varios interruptores táctiles para activar la "producción" de chocolates, ¡un toque muy divertido! La fábrica viene con dos cajas de regalo para que los niños puedan "vender" sus creaciones, dinero de juguete para hacer las compras, un tubo de glaseado de juguete y hasta un letrero y tarjeta de actividades reutilizable. Todo se puede guardar ordenadamente en el mostrador de madera, lo que hace fácil recoger después de jugar. Este juego no solo es entretenido, también es educativo. Ayuda a los pequeños a aprender números y a desarrollar habilidades motoras finas, reconocimiento de colores, y hasta les anima a jugar en equipo y contar historias. Ha sido un regalo perfecto para niños de 3 a 6 años, ofreciéndoles diversión práctica y sin pantallas.

We are huge Melissa and Dough fans in this household. We own most of the different food kits, so when this one was released, we knew we had to get it! It was such a different concept than the other ice cream, sandwich, pasta kits that kept getting reworked and sold. In typical Melissa and Doug fashion, the quality of this toy is the gold standard that other toys should be held to. The wood is smooth, the paint is professionally applied, the small amount of plastic used is not flimsy at all. There is just enough offered that the kids can really make and do everything, but also enough "missing" that their imagination can fill in the gaps. We LOVE the lack of batteries and sounds. My two boys (6 and 3) both play with this a lot. While my 6-year-old is at the top end of the age recommendations per Melissa and Doug, he still gets a lot of enjoyment out of it. His play style has changed from just being mesmerized by the dropping fillings, buttons, knobs, etc to asking people for their orders, making candies for his plushies, and worrying about taking money and giving change. I think that as long as imaginative play is encouraged, this toy has a lot of life left even for him. This holds his attention more than others sets because, well, kids are more interested in making gourmet chocolates than sandwiches or salads. There are only two cons that I have with this item. #1: The price. When we purchased this, it was on sale. Even then it felt like a lot of money. Since then, it looks like the price has gone up even more. While you are definitely paying for the quality and uniqueness, it is an obstacle to purchasing Melissa and Doug toys. Other kits we have purchased that are a similar price had more wood to explain some of the cost. This item is very nice, heavy, durable, but besides the main frame the only other pieces of wood are the small cubes meant to be fillings. #2: This is minor, but I wish there was a third chocolate box included. There are 6 pieces of chocolate when fully assembled and only two boxes. This would not only make storage neater; but it would allow the kids to make all the chocolates and box them all up at the same time. They are just cardboard/paper, and with the total cost of the item, I think it is curious that only two were included.
