Made my boiler as good as new.
Used this in my system due to kettle boiling sound and when the boiler was making that sound was sending a ton of bubbles into my pump causing it to sound like it was running dry, so I knew I needed to do something about it. So, I brought this and flushed the system and left this in my system for a week and on the first very day the kettle boiling sound completely disappeared, this was on a boiler that was around 8 years old. I flushed it out and used there Fernox Boiler Noise Silencer F2 and Adey MC1+ Protector Liquid and all working good as new.

Brilliant stuff - Does exactly what it says it will do.
This stuff worked brilliantly for me, shut down the awful racket my boiler was making within an hour. It doesn't "fix" your boiler, apparently it just makes the bubbles that cause the noise very, very small to the point where they do not make so much noise when they burst or whatever (this was all explained to me by a V helpful lady at Fernox). As suggested by some other posters may not work for everyone given the vagaries of boilers & central heating but it worked a treat for me.

Great Stuff ...update
As others have said...this did the trick. Once into the radiators all theclanging and banging "kettling" quieted in less than a day. I am adding this update to hopefully help others. The product lasted me about a year . I used a full bottle on my old central heating radiator system and very clanging external oil fired burner.we have about 12 radiators. The noise in the boiler stopped after a day...I guess because the silencer solution worked it's way round. I only drained one radiator and then fed the F2 in with a straw stuck into a fairy bottle filled with F2. It was messy and took several attempts. Better to buy the Eezy fill or the Express F2 with nozzle. This year I will also use the Fernox cleaner and protectant first so that the silencer lasts longer! So no doubt about the product. I bought the F2 solution to keep the boiler quiet and it was quiet BUT I had bought the solution without the injector. Stupid me. My radiators have tiny access points So getting the solution into the radiator was a nightmare! That's how, in the end, I used a hard plastic tiny straw and Gary warship bottlers feed the radiator. Fernox F2 got 4 stars instead of 5 because it would be easy to add a little straw to the kit. WD 40 does I think Fernox could too. (They do have the applicator with there Express range.)

My 12 year old, Ideal Icos HE15 condensing gas boiler is now quiet
This works. We had a gurgling boiler, coughing and spluttering from the heat exchanger when the flame ignited. The central heating system is 12yrs old, the house was built by Barratts and it’s held up pretty well. I had a project to swap the radiator in the family bathroom for a very tall heated towel rail. So it presented the perfect opportunity to drain the system, pop some cleaner in for a week, then drain it again to fit the towel rail and then refill with the boiler silencer and long-term inhibitor. It’s now been a further week and the boiler is silent. I previously thought it was the condensation drain pipe being blocked but it wasn’t. It’s that the heat exchanger has a build up of dross and then we were hearing the large bubbles bursting, being amplified by the boiler components. This product reduces the size of the bubbles so that, when they burst, they’re smaller and so inaudible. The cleaner probably helped too - we didn’t use a power-flush. Just a drain-down of our gravity system (little header tank in the attic). Perfect. System runs silently and as brand new. Highly recommended product which probably is best used as the final part of a clean and then protect sequence over a couple of weeks.

Seems to work...
Water flowing through our boiler, once up to operating temperature, was making a hissing/roaring noise that was waking me up early every morning, especially on cold nights. Only way to combat the problem was to turn the boiler thermostat to low. Had tried cleaning/draining the system, re-dosing with inhibitor, and also another manufacturers' "boiler silencer" product - but it kept doing it. Having read good reviews, I decided to give Fernox F2 a go. Drained off some water from a radiator, and poured a couple of containers in to the header tank (we have a large system). Whilst still not silent, its definitely made a clear difference - the whole system seems to be much quieter, and I've been able to turn the boiler thermostat up to high without any problems. The improvement was almost immediate, so I'm going to give it 5 stars - since in my experience, it does exactly what it claims to do. All boilers and installs are different, so it might not work for everyone, but definitely worth a try.

Expensive yet effective
My 20 year old boiler was very noisy (kettling). I had tried cleaner and adding boiler protection, but it did nothing for the noise. After 1 hour of running this through the system, the boiler was quite - can't recommend enough - now sleeping longer in the mornings when the old beast fires up!

Does exactly what it says on the bottle
I was sceptical about a'boiler silencer' but it did exactly what it says on the bottle! Stopped the banging within 15 minutes once it had circulated. Had the heating system power flushed a few years ago so wasn't expecting any problems but all of a sudden the boiler started banging and the pipes rattling. The plumber recommended Fernox silencer and I'm glad he did. Apparently the flush can't get into all the nooks and crannies of the boiler. Scale can still remain and causes hot spots which in turn causes the water to boil locally. The steam causes the banging. This product reduces the surface tension of the water meaning the steam bubbles don't form so easily and thus prevents the banging. You just have to ensure the product gets into the system. I partially drained the system until I could remove the plug on the bathroom radiator and pour it in then refilled the system. If you just put it in the header tank it may not get to the boiler!
