I'm a huge (if recent) fan of Shaye Elliott and greatly admire her family and lifestyle. This cookbook is the total package, and checks all the necessary cookbook boxes for me. The recipe selection has mouth-watering choices for every time of the day, and there are tons of bright and cheerful photos.Shaye writes with such warmth, you can almost feel the love coming from these pages: these are recipes she knows and uses, has tried and tested, over and over. She has created fun twists on old standards that have me itching to get into the kitchen. Some of the recipes that I'm most excited to try are the cucumber salad with mint, perfect browned butter mashed potatoes, oven fried zucchini with cilantro aioli, roasted chicken in milk with cinnamon and lemon, espresso-spiced walnuts, and cumin salt.This cook book is approachable for a variety of cooking levels, and appropriate for any food style--whether you shop for all your groceries, grown most of your own produce, or are somewhere in between.The foreword written by Shaye's husband, Stuart, is such a gem. Who's more qualified to start off the book? The photography is beautiful, cheerful and artistic. I like how some of the photos have an obvious focal point. My one really picky and preferential note on the photos is I'd prefer brighter lighting on about five of them (but again, that's me being really picky).I'm an avid gardener and baker, so I grow a lot produce and bake from baking cookbooks all the time. Really only Mimi Thorisson, Andrea Bemis and Marte Marie Forsberg get me to actually leave behind my mad scientist cooking ways, shop for ingredients, and cook specific recipes on purpose...BUT...it looks like I just found one more! So thank you Shaye for sharing your tried and true recipes. Because even the most free spirited cook needs actual recipes to use, refer to, and be inspired by.

Beautiful, and Inspiring!
What I LOVE about this book, and about the author, is her REALNESS. Straight up, it amazes me that she has 4 children, homeschool them, and still cooks with passion and not a desperate attempt to get food on the table. Her Instagram posts, cookbooks, and You Tube videos inspire me to hang in there in my own homeschool and farming journey, and to try new recipes! I've wanted to try Einkorn flour for a while and there are quite a few places in this book where it is used. I also love the simple ingredients, able to be found at most farmers markets or bulk coops, and the gorgeous photography that allows a glimpse into the Elliot homestead as it has grown over time. I am SO excited to dig in and get cooking! Hallelujah and amen for fresh butter and cream😊

Good home cookin
I actually like her first cookbook a bit better, except for the binding - I've used it so much it's in shreds. Family table is lovely, though, and full of her typical yummy recipes. I felt it was slightly over priced, but just slightly. Her food is genuine, though, and my family always enjoys her recipes.

Such a wonderful cookbook! All accompanied by stunning photos that make you feel like you are right there in the kitchen with the Author. Very much a recommended cookbook from my kitchen to yours!

Delicious
This is a delicious cookbook! Next to Nourishing Traditions, this is my favorite cookbook I own. I haven't tried a recipe from this book that my family didn't like! I highly recommend.

Shaye is yet to disappoint. I fell in love with her storytelling and recipes in her book Welcome to the Farm and have been a loyal follower ever since! This girl has an amazing Instagram, YouTube channel and her books are phenomenal. I’m a big fan, Shaye! Love, a fellow Washingtonian.

Amazing!! The foreword nearly had me tearing up, the pictures are beautiful, the recipes are easy to follow and everything looks delicious.I will be buying Shaye’s other books for sure!

Not her best work... Has a lot of weird recipes that don't look very appetizing.
