Awesome tent
This tent was great quality for my 2007 f150 with hard topper. Nice to have extra leg room while truck camping. Have not yet experienced tough rain or wind yet but I’m using it on those overnight fishing trips.Materials and seams were all in the right place good snug fit.Little tricky to assemble first try but I figured it out.The only thing I didn’t care about was the Velcro sky light plastic. It should be an option to have it or not.

Great Tailgate Tent for Full Size Truck Shell.
Great fit for full size truck with up to medium high rise shell. Supports go together well. Zippers are good as is bug mesh enclosure. Awning is study but take it down in the wind. All parts included and good materials used. Great fit for full size truck shell.

Good product, with room for improvement.
Good for truck camping with camper. 2014 Chevy 1500 with ARE camper. Needs a 4-6’ longer vestibule. Good quality and kept rain out. Setup was relatively easy. Real easy with 2 people.

Best Addition to a Truck Camping Setup
I was a bit worried about this tent because it’s pretty much the only one on the market that works with a camper shell! And when it reads as “universal” sometimes that means “only works on some trucks.” Well I am pleasantly surprised! I got this because I’m attending a music festival in August in Pennsylvania. I will be camping with my sister but she has her own set up. So I get to sleep in the back of my tent without my dogs and husband! I figured what’s the point of setting up a tent if it’s just me. I originally thought I’d just get a mosquito net for the back and call it a day. But then I saw this tent. This gives me another 2 feet of space on the end and a tiny little awning to shade the back end, plus a mosquito net to zipper shut to keep bugs out. I plan on putting a mosquito net pop up tent over the back also. I love camping but not the bugs who want to join in on the party.I did a test run today in my driveway to see if I could do it all by myself. I used a ladder just so I could see the top and how things connect. But when I camp I’ll open the back door and use the tailgate. I also have one of the steps that you can sling over the back tire. I am attaching images on this review but might add more once I use it at the music festival. I did not steak down the awning so the poles are obviously not going to be that way in the wild. I just wanted to get an idea of how far the awning reaches.I do recommend starting from the top down. I used gear clamps to hold each side up so it wouldn’t slip. Connect the top straps first then adjust the two straps that hook to the hitch. Adjust the tailgate strap after you put the poles inside. Tighten the tire straps last. That’ll make it nice and snug under the tailgate. Make sure the edges of the door hug the corners nice and snug along the tailgate. I’ll include an image.I drive a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with an ARE cap with the extended height. We have an aluminum rack on top and that did not affect the fit at all.Lastly make sure you have some pool noodles or foam pipe covers, just in case. The edge of our cap window is pretty round but I put them on just in case.I am a 48 year old woman and this was very easy to do by myself.I’m so excited to use this next month!

Fits good and looks great
I looked at two options and decided to go with the Joytotus tailgate tent. I am glad I made this choice. It was a little difficult to put over the shell by myself. It would have been a snap with 2 people. The fit and finish was great.

Fit’s Short bed full size truck perfectly!
Fit’s a short bed F150 perfectly. Does take a time or two to figure out how to install the easiest and fasted way, but had it down to less than 5 mins after round two and just keeping the poles together. Recommend using two different color electrical tapes to mark the poles to make it easier to reassemble for future use if you decide to take them apart each time. Seemed a little pricey at first, but after installed, I know we couldn’t make it for less and it fits perfectly even with the camper shell rear window extended up for full exits clearance. Quality seems good, but time will tell after a few windy camping nights, I guess. The other good thing about this was the fact that it actually rolled up and fit into the storage bag without too much hassle as long as your not trying to put the poles in with it. Wouldn’t recommend anyway to make sure the metal poles won’t possibly tear the tent and bag material.
