First Time Dad: The Stuff You Really Need to Know Paperback – April 15, 2011

This is a great book for dads. Even moms can learn something!

This was an excellent read, as an expectant father. I've found, at least so far, that there is no where near as much information targeted at fathers-to-be than as there is for mothers-to-be. This is, of course, understandable. Men have often, historically speaking, taken a more passive role than their wives in many aspects of parenting. But for the man who wants to equip himself - and not just with the facts and practical info, but with the spiritual and mental tools that are so important for the job of parenting - this is a real gem in what might seem like an overwhelming sea of information.

The perfect gift for a first time dad! Humorous but full of real information to keep them diving in!

I ordered this for a christmas present for Dad as bay was due in February. Dad said reading this book really helped him prepare for baby being here. He said that he was okay with the fact that the baby "only wanted mom" when he would try to hold him and the baby would still cry until I would take him back because the book explained this. He also said it really helped put things into perspective for him and realize how important it is to "be present" and that work was not going to be the most important thing anymore.

Absolutely the number one book every Father and to be Father should read. Wisdom on every page that will lead you to be a better father. Your kids NEED you to read this!!

This isn't what I thought it would be. I was hoping to find a book for my husband to explain pregnancy and the changes that come with that for a couple. I thought that is where this book would start and move into baby's first few years but it really just starts off with baby already being here. My husband is a great step-dad to my 5 year old daughter so this isn't really any information that's helpful to him. It's a fine book just not what I was looking for.

This is an amazing book for first time dads. It is written from a Christian perspective so you will read the authors opinion from this standpoint. The wisdom is good, it is down to earth writing, and is practical information. It is a easy read and is a great place to find good information for first time dads

My husband seems to be enjoying the book! Everytime I get home from work, I see the book open on the table or the sofa. It tells me he is learning alot on how to be a "First Time Dad".
