used this as a color refresher between dyes and it worked well. The pigment boosted my color nicely and my hair felt soft after rinsing. It is easy to apply like a mask, but it does stain hands and surfaces, so gloves and protecting the bathroom are a must. Overall, it works well if you take those precautions.

Color washes out so fast, and after two months of hair washing my hair is just brassy and orange. No amount of clarifying shampoo or detox can get the pigment out. I bought chocolate brown by the way. Also, the mask was very drying and left my hair feeling crunchy after use.

This is the best hair color mask I’ve used thus far. It got me the exact color I wanted, a rich auburn-copper color. I’ve tried other temporary hair colors and masks, like Adore, Aloxxi, Clairol, Keracolor, and this one so far has been the best. Left my hair silky soft! I put in the mask twice — washed it out the first time but I didn’t put enough on my ends. Second time I put more on the bottom parts of my hair and it turned out great. Easy to wash and didn’t stain my pillow cases like Adore would even after I washed out the color thoroughly. Looks vibrant but natural. I used to dye my hair with henna and ever since I wanted to replicate the color I got without actually using henna (you can’t dye or bleach hair normally after you henna your hair for years). After waiting my time, trying out different colors, I think this one was the closest color so far. Not too orange which is the big thing, and still natural looking! Overall super impressed. Can’t speak to longevity yet but it held up well to shampooing.

My hair is naturally gray and brown. This stuff definitely works. I sprayed my hair to dampen with water and saturated it with hair mask color. I bagged it and waited 20 minutes. I posted a pic collage. The first top left photo is before. The other 3 are after.

I wanted to hide up the gray/blonde gracing my hairline, so I bought this conditioner. To start read the directions in total! Don’t skim- learn from me!!! Let me tell you the lamentable tale of my right hand… Unfortunately, I cleaned my oven sans gloves prior to using this (with barkeepers friend- amazing product btw, oven looks great!) I decided I was going to try the dyecon (feel free to steal my lazy word) when I next wash my hair- so the day before my next work day- just in case, ya know. Well, I got asked to work this night and for some reason (blonde moment) I thought “heck I’m going for it!”. So I did… For starters, I didn’t read the ENTIRE short directions- like wear suitable gloves- DO THAT! I reach in for a good scoop of dyecon and am happy with the color and creaminess of the product. So I flip my head over and add the red cream to my ends working my way up to my scalp- squish squish to condish my locks. I pull my hands down to give a rinse and notice my right hand is orange. Not like orange- like DAYGLO ORANGE. Left hand was like WTF friend, what did you get into!!! And stay away from me!!! The color washed easily off the walls, the floor, my skin- not right hand man though… I bust out my trusty nail brush to help get the color tamed, to no avail. Now I’m low key freaking out about my hairline, ears, neck- anywhere this dyecon is touching!!! I’m now straight freaking realizing I have to be at work in 2 hours- WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!! Right hand dye is deepening in color. WTF!!! How am I going to get this off? Explain to my cohorts in crime??? 10 MINUTES (still scrubbing hand) LATER Time to rinse, it looked like an orange massacre!!! I am pretty freaked that my hair is straight orange!!! I’m not pleased that my hair feels VERY dry after the rinse- btw- rinse until clear, don’t trust your hand as a guide! I ended up using my conditioner and hair was soft again- more orange rinsed out. I grab my hair Tshirt and wrap it up, not yet ready for the reveal. Bonus- it did not stain my ears, neck or hairline or tshirt, I’m feeling pretty good, until my right hand comes into view… I get dressed, and am ready for the reveal. I laughed sooooo hard and immediately FaceTimed my daughter so we could laugh at my escapade together. We laugh and I say, wait until you see my right hand! We are hysterical now! OK- seriously now, how do I fix this???? Being smart and beautiful as she is, she asked if my hand was really dry. Why yes! I cleaned the oven (sans gloves- in case you forgot) and she connected the dots. I dried out my poor right hand while scrubbing- then the dye decided to join the party, and went big- we were already at home. Lotion did not help. Realizing I’m bound to this hair color, and will have to rock it for now so I dry and style my lava colored flowing locks. I can’t help but think I look like a flame! Had to share with my sisters and mom for the laugh, mom trying to be supportive, disagreeing that it’s that bad- until she sees the color and agrees with my assessment- I’m officially a hot head (which she already knew). Lesson in this long lamentable tale- 1. don’t clean anything without using gloves 2. Always read the directions and use gloves 3. Don’t experiment before you go to work ***after 3 days my hand is back to normal. I bought this to brighten up my newly dyed red locks, it did the job amazingly- a bit too orange for my liking, hence the 4 stars.
