Steamy read with surprising depth.
I didn't know that I would love the characters in this book when I started reading this story. I only knew that I was in the mood for some hot steamy sex with maybe a little bit of romance thrown in. And I got that, but I also got so much more. I got characters that, well... it was like this for me... I started out thinking ok, this is a super spoiled needy kid (Mark) that has everything and wants to make everyone in his life suffer because he feels like he was treated unfairly. It quickly became evident that while this character could have been that shallow, he wasn't. Not at all. He turns out to be a driven young man who might have been naive but was smart too. He was taken advantage of and there's the element of angst for sure, he is out to make new memories that wipe the bad ones away in the sexiest, perviest of ways! And, he's found the perfect guy to do it with.Tim is the perfect picture of a bad boy. He does illegal things for a living and spends a great deal of his time sleeping with spoiled rich kids and breaking hearts because he's the whole package and makes these boys that normally have everything they want at the snap of a finger crazy when he moves on before they're ready. But he's not just what he shows everyone and somehow he starts to let Mark in and soon we can see that this character is someone who's caring and lonely but afraid to take a chance because of his past. Mark and Tim are perfect for each other and the build up of their relationship is a masterpiece of writing. Not too fast or too slow, just perfect. As well as the angsty moments... they weren't just thrown in, they were impeccably timed. Watching these two characters begin to have real feelings for each other and their very real fear of it because it was breaking all the rules they had was so sweet. The panty melting scenes that are frequent, were so hot. Seriously, these guys are sooooo sexy together! What I wasn't expecting at all were the depth that all the characters had, the secondary characters that really made this story great. A peak into a world that is privileged and these people aren't at all what they appeared to be. It was wonderful to see all these characters start out showing a side that people expect, but maybe don't necessarily like and then find out that it is just armor they are using to hide behind because they all have some damage from life. It made them very realistic and likable and also there might be a character or two that are just exactly the way they start out representing themselves. Made me love most of them and strongly dislike others. I like when I can feel that strongly for these make believe people. This book was exactly what I needed.

Filthy Little Secret
I don't have a whole lot to say about this one...The book was good, writing was good, audio was good. Nothing really stood out making this book "extra" for me, making me feel like I need to listen to this one more than once. Overall Michael Pauley did a good job like always, no problems with this narration, it was fine. It's about Tim the Drug Dealer and Mark the Governor's son. You would expect that Tim being a drug dealer would be corrupting Mark, but that's not really this story. They both are really not that bad as people in general. But boy are they Filthy. I mean the dirty talk during the sex scenes was pretty good, dirty, hot and the story was definitely believable and not over the top. It was just Good all around..

Different in a great way
I wasn't sure going in how I was going to feel about this book. There were a couple of aspects (you will know when you read them) that I couldn't wrap my head around, but as I kept reading it all came together. Two guys from different worlds meet and when they collide....oh man. Each one brought something to the relationship that the other one desperately needed. This was written in dual POV, which I love, and I could FEEL how they were feeling about each other, their lives. It makes this story so much more than it is. It's like finding a piece of yourself that you've been missing. It's sexy as hell and watching them fall in love was both heartwarming and difficult with what they had going on in their lives. I though this was a really great book. Don't miss out! 5 stars.

A perfectly built unique love story
Filthy Little Secret is the newest story brought to you by McCockalypse. Devon McCormack proves again and again that he can write. Every story he publishes is different in style and topic but the writing is always powerful. This book is a unique, darkish, melancholic love story. If you have read Lying Bastard, you know the kind of atmosphere I'm talking about. There's an underlying darkness, a sad but heartwarming undertone giving the perfect counterbalance to the writer's signiture perviness. The chemistry is sizzling hot, the sexytime plenty and very satisfying. Our MCs are complex and very lovable characters and this story has all the elements that makes a love story perfect for me. It's not overly romantic but Mark and Tim's love is undeniable and their layered and deepening connection is wonderfully portrayed. There's no question these two guys form an amazing couple who deserve happiness. Highly recommended.
