This product goes a lot farther than expected and is so easy to work with. I highly recommend following the directions for warming the epoxy to the full time prior working with so that you are able to fully sculpt to a smooth finish. I was just as surprised to find the tools given were of decent quality. Very impressed with this set!

This stuff is pretty cool! I use a kitchen scale to measure out pre weighed balls of each one, and then keep them in a metal dish on top of a heating pad so that when I need more product throughout my sculpting process, I can quickly mix up more without waste or having to eyeball the ratios. I’m new to epoxy clay so I’m still learning but I’ve experimented with a quick soak in hot water after I’ve already mixed if I need it to be softened. It helps a bit but ultimately speeds up the curing process so I just try to only mix small amounts at a time to avoid waste. I used a layer of thick UV cured gel to add the surface texture and topped with mirrored chrome pigment powder to make it gold. I am a nail artist so this finishing technique is what felt most natural to me.

I was surprised at how easy this is to work with. It's moldability is great. You can shape it as you'd like and it stays put. Probably best of all is that it gives you time to work. It doesn't start to set up and harden for a while. And, you can add heat and water to make late changes. You should even have time to mix a 2nd (3rd?) batch to finish your project. My suggestion is that you get your "shape" very close to how you want it as it sets really hard, so large scale carving/sanding is difficult.

This epoxy clay does what it says but it was a struggle to work with. The dark half of the compound was only moderately sticky but was harder to work than the clays I am used to. I was working with about half of the material and took some time to try to get it to become more pliable. I have some arthritis in my hands so this could have been part of the issue but I practiced my project with regular clay and that was easier to work.Then there's the white half. The instructions advised to put it in the microwave a bit to make it easier to work and I did this, getting it just warm and not hot. This half of the compound gave me the most trouble. It sticks to everything and I mean everything. I had donned some nitrile gloves and shortly I was thinking about Brer Rabbit and the tar baby. I tried putting it back into the container before mixing as I only needed half and I wanted to get my gloves cleaned off at least some. I didn't have to worry about that much because it tore the gloves apart.I thought maybe the included polyethylene gloves would fare better. They were in tatters shortly. I did sprinkle my hands with water and this helped a little. What I decided to do was flatten out the black portion into as big of a disk as I could, then put the white portion in a ball shape into the middle. I then folded the disk over the white portion sealing the sticky white portion inside and proceeded to knead it twisting it, rolling it into a snake, then twisting the snake together until it became uniform.Eventually it became less sticky and I formed my shape but put plastic wrap under it so it wouldn't fuse with my work surface.There was plenty of work time and it set up as advertised, rock hard without deforming. I was happy with the end product. I'm glad I wore old work clothes.Pros: not much odor while mixing. Easy to tell when you have it mixed well. End result is as advertised, hard and strong.Cons: don't scratch your nose or anything else especially with the white portion. Go to the bathroom first. The white portion will get everywhere, the only way it could go further is to give it to a toddler (Please don't!!). I have no advice on gloves as none of them lasted.

The putty mixes easily, isn't sensitive to exact measurements and is really nice to sculpt. It gets sticky and you'll want to uses silicone tools but it's way better than greenstuff for example.

Wasnt want i was expection but made it work

Wasn’t really sure what to expect with this product. It preformed better than expected rebuilding deer antler tines. Just a little bit of advice, a little bit goes further than expected lol! Great product!
