This kite winder changed the way I fly. It is a whole lot easier to let line out and to reel it in. Keep in mine that the supply line might not be sufficient for your kite so double check your kite instructions. I have large hands and 8.7 inch reel is ok for my hands. The 8 inch or smaller winder squeeze my fingers making it difficult to reel in the line. Also remember that the company that put the line on had a machine do it, which means your line will twist on you once you let out some line. I came across this with my daughters 8 inch reel. I unfortunately took all the line out so I can take out all the twisting in the line. Overall good winder for the money can't complain. Enjoy this product if you choose to buy it.

Pros: Nice, comfortable grip Easy to wind Durable string The Hook on the end of the string will not come undone if you close it correctly Easy for children to hold onto, but I do not recommend allowing children to hold it when not locked Cons: The Hook on the end of the string is very difficult to open It easily gets tangled when not in use Get unwind very fast - I recommended wearing gloves because if you don’t get a rope burn, the plastic will burn you from turning. I recommend it for adult adults.

I was surprised at the quality of this reel winder. Im a grandpa making kites for the grandchildren and this is perfect to keep the string in-line for inexperienced user. Highly recommend.
