Primal Pet Foods Freeze-Dried Canine Chicken Formula 5.5 oz

Our dogs are EXTREMELY picky eaters! We have tried everything, I mean literally everything and they just won’t eat it. But, these! They actually liked!

My dog has pancreatitus so is on a very limited diet. He gets bored with his staple dog food, one half block of the primal freeze dried chicken, crumbled over 2 cups of his dry food gets him to eat. I ordered the pork flavor but his medical condition flared up, not sure why other than he does better with chicken products. I do use freeze dried beef liver sprinkles successfully, but the freeze dried chicken livers made his condition act up. It's hit or miss, but I wouldn't give him up for any reason, he's worth it! P. S. Vet told me he developed his medical condition because of eating too much fat, he was a big fan of cheese but I didn't know it would result in such damage. When the pancreas swells, it's very painfull for them, as well as causing mucous poop many times a day. Not fun when you have a dog screaming in pain as he squats to relieve himself. I would recommend trying this product for your dog, introduce slowly.

I use this as a topper (esp. for picky eater dogs) but need to use a bit light because for some dogs this is pretty rich and trigger loose stool. Something to watch for but they love all flavors of Primal Nuggets.

I ordered the small bag, but didn't realize how small it is. Fortunately I have a small dog. I just got this as a topper for my dog's food. She whimpers and makes funny little sounds waiting for me to crumble it over her food. Before I got this for her, she ate her food but didn't exactly love it. Now she gobbles it down even when I don't put one on top of her food. I put water over it all, but she loves it dry too (though then she tends to pick around it to eat it before her regular food). There are about enough biscuits in the small bag to use 1/day for a month.

Besides the flavor, value for the cost and easy to use, our dog likes them and has continued to eat them. Our dog rarely likes a dog food after he tries it. The Primal Freeze Dried food has been different, he continues to eat this in Chicken flavor, Venison, and Pork. He persists eating them by the chunk, not mixed with any liquid. He is a 12 lb Pom and has gone for days without eating just about anything, even off the table, but he will take the chunk, guard it until he decides to eat it. Don't try to take it from him! That makes this food a sure thing for our Lil boy! To me it means the flavors must be good to him and the cost cannot be an issue since he eats so little otherwise. As long as he eats Primal I will order!
