Tastes fine. Not bitter.
After seeing a video about Yaupon Tea I decided to try it out. The seller was great - no problems with shipping and delivery. The tea is also great. Not bitter. Tastes a like a blend of green and dark tea with a hint of Mate. This would make a very nice substitute for regular tea. I like it a lot more than a typical herbal tea. Definitely worth trying out!

Excellent caffeine
Yaupon Holly is the only native plant to North America with caffeine. We learned this on a history tour in North Carolina. The tea is modestly mild tasting but gives a long lasting caffeine jolt. Glad that the tea bags are simple and without string or tag.

So good! Wonderful quality. It transported me back to my youth, on a bitter cold night on the Qualla Boundary reservation, sitting around a fire with a tribal elder, sipping hot “black drink”, learning about my heritage. Thank you!

Alternative to coffee
Mild herbal tea with caffeine. Easy to cold or hot brew. No bitterness. Use sweetner if desired for a sweet tea vibe..

No sick stomach!
Tried my first cup of Rise Youpon tea today and I love it! I enjoy tea, but traditional teas make me nauseous, I think because of the tannins. This tea is delicious, and zero nausea side effects. I’m so happy to be able to actually enjoy a cup of tea without the sick stomach after. This is my new go to tea!

If you like tea you should try this
I got the green/classic version. Shockingly good to someone who drinks Chinese and English style tea daily. Makes me think of honeysuckle and a soft green tea, with a decent caffeine kick. The fact that it holds up to resteeping speaks to the quality. It’s on the expensive side for a daily driver tea but good enough to always make sure I have some in the cupboard

The tea is weak. One bag barely colours the water in the mug, even after steeping quite a while. And there is very little flavour. Can’t tell there’s chocolate at all, and only a hint of mint. I’m going to drink them all regardless because I’m drinking them as a mild diuretic, in order to give them a chance to work, but the flavour is insipid.
