Cat - will these deter cats?

I doubt it. Didn't even work for squirrels. They just lifted up their bellies and scooted across them. The spikes are not sharpened. They are dull. I assume its so you don't "hurt" the animal. But it makes them effectively worthless at least for squirrels. A smart cat would have no problem navigating them.

I don't think they would impale birds or other animals because the spikes are not that stiff. Just enough to deter!

Will these prevent large iguanas from crawling on screen lanai?

It might! We had to use several by putting them closer together so the birds wouldn't build their nest on our fireplace vent on our patio. It's so far been 2 months and no birds in sight!
