Surprisingly sturdy, but not as long as a standard bench
I was skeptical of this bench because I feared it wouldn’t be sturdy enough or stable enough to trust. Much to my surprise, it holds me (200+ pounds) plus some light weights easily. While I wouldn’t want to use this bench for heavy sets with a full bar, it is a perfect option to keep around the living room for occasional workouts. Unfortunately, it is a bit too short. To feel great about a bench, I would need it to extend from my middle section to the top of my head so that I’ll have some head/neck support while using it. This one extends basically to my shoulders, which is frustrating since one of the current sample photos (apparently photoshopped) implies it would be a good fit for someone my size.Be sure this bench is right for you because it’s not built for every exercise, but I’m very pleased that it does what it does well.

Smaller Than Expected, Very Sturdy, Good For Multiple Uses
I thought this portable workout bench would be larger than it actually is. Going by the sample photos on the seller's page, there are people using it to bench do dumbbell exercises, sit-ups, etc. When this arrived, it was so much smaller than I expected. It's almost toddler or child-sized, rather than an adult size bench. I included photos with my review so you can see it's size compared to my bed.For what it is, although small, it is impressively sturdy and solid. Whatever foam it is made of is very dense and holds my body weight (over 200 lbs) without sinking in, causing dips, or being squished. It holds my husband's weight well also, and he is closer to 250lbs. I am impressed at the quality of what this is made of, and how strong the support is.This bench is small enough to where you cannot rest your entire body on it. At best, you can fit maybe your upper body for bench press or sit-ups, but your lower back, hips, and legs will hang off of this. I am not sure how truly good this portable bench pad is for doing workouts. If you are a smaller, petite, shorter person, this would probably be good for yoga, Pilates, and light weightlifting. If you are taller and/or a larger person, this bench is awkward to try to use if benching heavy weight, or trying to rest your body on it. The bench is not too wide, so trying to fit the full span of your back or your hips on it is not possible.Alternatively, I have found that although this portable bench pad is not ideal for heavy lifts or taller/larger people, it works decently as bedroom furniture that can be used in different, fun ways with your partner. It is sturdy enough to hold the majority of our weight on it while it's being used, and that is a plus.Overall, I think this portable bench pad can be used for light workouts, but I feel it's better suited for fun time in the bedroom. I give it 3 stars due to its small, slimmer size, which is the main negative of this bench pad. If this was a few inches wider and taller, it would be a much better item to have for doing workouts and even better for bedroom activities.

this is a game changer for your home workouts!
I'll have to admit that at first, I wasn't sure if this would be useful at all. I looked at the dimensions and design, and it really didn't seem like it could replace a real weight bench.I have a regular heavy duty, adjustable weight bench, but I don't have a large exercise area. So, I would have to move that bench in and out of the same area where I normally use kettlebells and other weights during the same workout. That is why I don't use that bench. The whole design of this product is lightweight, small, and very easy to use - so I have started using it all the time. The size seems about the smallest that it could be, yet it's sufficient for almost everyone. I was expecting it to be wider, but a real weight bench is about the same width because it needs to allow for the arms and shoulders to go down on the sides while doing bench presses and other movements. The length is about right for the torso. If I could adjust ANYTHING about it, I would make it slightly longer so I can sit down on the end and then roll onto my back without having to scoot forward - that can be difficult if you have heavy dumbbells in your hands. Additional length would also allow for resting my head on the bench while doing bench presses, although I could probably just scoot even further down if I really need my head to be supported. It seems to be made out of a hard foam. There might be something stiffer on the inside and then foam around it, but it has a very solid core and just enough softness that it doesn't hurt to lay on it. The outer cover is vinyl, so it can be wiped off if you get it wet or sweaty. It also has a zipper, so it is removable for better cleaning. There is a handle on one end, so I can easily pick it up with one hand (or, one FINGER!) to move it around the room. That is much easier than a regular weight bench! I stand it on one end just to the side of my exercise area, and it takes up very little floor space. One of the neat additional features of it is that I can lay it on its side and it becomes a step box. I had been looking for an affordable wooden box for some stepping exercises I need to do for physical therapy, but when I lay this bench on its side, it is about the same height, so I have been using this bench as a step box, too. This is like two products in one! It does have a little give to it when I step on it, but it's certainly strong and solid enough for me to put my entire weight on.It comes in a cardboard box and requires no assembly or anything else. I also liked that the packaging had extra bubble wrap right where a box cutter might go to cut open the tape. That protects the vinyl cover from getting cut when you open the packaging. That was a nice touch!Overall, this is a great product, and I'm so glad I got it. The price might seem a little steep for what is included, but I think the lightweight design and versatility more than makes up for that.
