OXO Good Grips SimplyTear Paper Towel Holder - Stainless Steel (Silver & Black)

I have had this holder since 2020, and I have tried dispensing paper towels from both directions: towels in back/towels in front. It does make a difference as to how the towels will tear. If you dispense [pull] from the back, you are very likely to pull multiple sheets at once. But if you dispense from the front, the tension bar will hold the roll tightly and you can control the amount of towels you need. If you doubt this, then why not give it a try? It works for me 100% by having the tension bar put pressure on the paper roll in the front of the roll. Also, one might want to hold the top knob for control; I have found it best to hold the tension bar and grab the top of the paper sheet you wish to tear. This gives extraordinary control in tearing. It also works well one-handed to just grab the sheet and tear, when the paper dispenses from the front.Also, some complain about the height of the dispenser being too short. That may be true of some brands but not Bounty, Brawny, Viva, Sparkle and Scott. All of these brands fit the height requirement. The brand in my review is Bounty Select-a-Size.

The OXO Good Grips SimplyTear Paper Towel Holder is absolutely amazing. The product works perfectly. One, it is looks good in any setting. Two, you can easily put on and remove the paper towel roll. Three, It is weighted just right so the holder will never fall over. Four, it does not take up a lot of counter space. Finally, tearing off sheets of paper towel is easy. I am not sure why a few people say that you have pull the paper a certain way to tear off sheets, but this is absolutely not true. No matter what angle you pull, the sheet is will tear off clean and perfectly. Please do not waste your time looking at other holders because they will not match up to this product.

I had an older version of this same dispenser. Bought this one to replace it because it broke (we dropped it - nothing wrong with the design). This newer version is even better than the first!! The part that presses against the role is shaped a little bit differently and sits a little higher up. As a result, I can actually rip off a single sheet of the select-a-size paper towels with one hand! So happy!

I like the design and function of this holder, but the spring wore out after 7 years of daily use. Not too bad, I guess. I’m about to order a replacement, but it seems to me that such a simple design should last longer.Tried to disassemble to see if it could be repaired, but it is not designed for disassembly without risk of destruction.

I got tired of my husband complaining about not being able to rip paper towels off with one hand properly, so I did some research and found this paper towel holder. The holder is noce and sturdy and holds the paper towel on well. You can still rotate the paper towel, but you can tear a piece off without ripping it now. My husband no longer complains. Amen to that!

I love this paper towel holder! It replaced an under the cabinet one but is so much easier to use. The towels tear off much faster and it’s weight keeps it from ever tipping!

Listen, no really, c'mere for a second and lemme tell you about this thing! First, if you're here for the quick of it: buy it. Like right now. Yesterday. Do it and you won't regret it!Second, if you're here for the long haul, welp, buckle up. Imagine me, trying for years to pull paper towels off the roll one-handed and constantly either ripping the roll off the horizontal ones over the sink (big yikes! all ruined now, huh? uggh!) or yanking furiously at the ones on the counter and the whole iron thing clanging on the floor (also gross because i was gonna wipe my hands on that. If I wanted to wipe my hands on the floor like a heathen I would have!). Or the few times it managed to work: behold, I now have 20 paper towels. Which, cool, if you needed to clean up a whole pan of spilled sauce. Not so cool if you were trying to, oh, I dunno, dry your hands.Right, so then picture this: hubby deciding he loves the paper towels that stick even more to the roll! They're suddenly his favorite things in the world. Right as I develop arthritis in my hands. Now I'm yanking and yanking and getting 2 inch wedges of paper towels or, again, the whole rack in the floor. Ugggghhh! I began to use my own clothing to dry my hands. My own shirt to mop my face. Wringing my hands off at the floor or the cat who at least loves water and wasn't traumatized by it. Much cussing involved when something spilled or I was asked to hurry or... you get the idea. Much drama llama!Until this baby. This beautiful gorgeous savior right here. My beloved grippy paper towel holder that weighs enough to sit on the counter even to the very last paper towel on the roll. Hubby's stick-together paper towels or my own preferred easy roll ones, either way. This thing I actually affectionately stare at each time I need a paper towel or flick on the light that's right over it. This. THIS... you must buy. Unless you're a friend of family member, because I'm totally not joking, I'm buying 6 more as we speak. Presto.
