Upgrade went well by using consultant prescribed steps.
After reading some of the horror stories, I was very hesitant to jump from 2012 to 2015. With the pending end of payroll support for 2012, it was time to do something anyway. I had to stay with QB in some version as my Order Manager program at work interfaces only with that accounting program and not the online version either. I sent off an email to my Order Manager and QB consultant and she told me that 2015 was fine, it just has to be installed properly. Here is what she told me to do. Make a backup of my current file. Restore the backup to the older QB version to make sure it is good. Install QB 2015 to a different directory than QB 2012. Launch QB 2015 and open a sample file. Get QB updates. Restore the backup of the 2012 file and allow QB to update the file to the new format. Go to File, Utilities and Rebuild to further make sure the file is good. Oh, and don’t try any of this across the network but on the primary workstation at first. Never try to just open an old QB data file directly with the new version. Always use the restore function.Anyway, did all of this and it worked like a charm. I was able to get my old 2012 file upgraded nicely to 2015 without a hitch. I was also able to link up to my Order Manager program first time. So all seems good. I haven’t spent a lot of time with the new interface but so far are able to find the information without any real difficulty. So far so good.

Streamlining My Small Business with QuickBooks Pro
As the owner of a small business, I've tried a few different accounting options. After hearing positive reviews, I decided to go with QuickBooks Pro around 2015. Nearly 8 years later, Quickbooks is still my go-to for keeping the books.Pros:One of the most commonly used software for accountingDecent user interfacePerpetual licensingGood variety of templates and customization options for invoices, financial reports, and forms. If your data's good, easy to generate reports and track quotes, orders, and invoicesCons:Lack of remote access and reliance on desktop application, while tight security, also limits mobility.Requires buying new version every 2-3 years to stay current. Not all features translate well from desktop to QuickBooks Online.Dated interface.Challenging to initially set up.Technical support is limited.Intuit seems committed to moving fully to QuickBooks Online in the future which worries me, but for now, QuickBooks continues to meet my accounting needs.Overall, QuickBooks Pro strikes an excellent balance between depth of features and ease of use. I've been very satisfied with it. The platform is not the cheapest option, but it's been worth the investment for the huge time savings, efficiency, and peace of mind!

Upgraded for the continued online import of bank accounts and credit card statements -- worth it! (Had QB 2011 previously)
I haven't gotten deep into the 2015 version of QB Pro, but it does what I need it to, and upgrading allowed me to download my bank and credit card statements again for easy import. The time saved with that feature alone made this worth it. Amazon has a much better price than direct order through QB, which was nice too. If you use QB, then the upgrade is a no brainer.Features I use on a regular basis:- integrates with my studio mangement software (I import IIF files)- import bank/credit card statements easily- print checks- send information to my accountantCons? Well, after three years (I believe, it might be more), QB "discontinues" the online connectivity import option for banks and credit cards. Honestly, that's why I upgraded this time around -- and no other reason. The interface is updated, and I do have to say I like the changes. It seems like the usability is about the same, if not improved. But even though I upgraded from QB 2011, I was still able to navigate my way around the software interface without resorting to the help document.

Terrible Customer Service(!)
I ordered the PC disk version for this product since our home office business is upgrading to new PC's. Amazon.com did a great job in providing me with a quick delivery of this product and so I opened it immediately and began the installation process by inserting the QuickBooks 2015 CD into the disk drive.Well, when I came to the point where I needed to enter the License Number and Product ID during the installation process, I searched all over the documentation provided inside and also on the CD and was unable to find it. Our company has been loyal QuickBooks users since 1995, and always in the past when we've upgraded, this License Number/Product ID info was provided on documentation within the product box that it came in.However, with this latest product, I was directed to look at the outside of the plastic package that everything came in, where apparently the License Number and Product ID Number are shown, however they are covered by a thin protective strip, that apparently one must carefully remove to view both of these numbers, (similar to a scratcher card for a state lottery....).Trying very carefully to remove the protective covering failed, and the paper portion with both numbers on it came off the package, still stuck to the adhesive on the protective covering, rendering the License and Product ID numbers illegible and unreadable.I immediately called Intuit Tech Support for assistance, and this is what happened:A. The first person I spoke with named "Becky", who was nearly impossible to understand with her accent, and, after what I thought was a thorough explanation of my problem as described above, she actually asked me for the product License Number(!)B. "Becky" then said that this was not a tech support issue, and offered to transfer me to their Customer Support department, to which I was on hold for a very long time, only to find out that Customer Support was open only during standard business hours (I was calling on a Sunday), something to which tech support person, "Becky" was not apparently aware of.C. I called Intuit Tech Support a 2nd time, and this time got "Marvin" on the phone, who, after describing my problem as per above, quickly informed me that they could not help me, and all I could do was to contact Amazon.com for their help. I informed "Marvin" that this was an Intuit product issue, and not an Amazon.com issue, however, he continued to inform me that there no way that the License Number and Product ID can be provided, via some sort of online tool offered by Intuit, from the data on the CD.Obviously, I am extremely disappointed with the abysmal tech support from Intuit, as well as the very shoddy packaging for their QuickBooks 2015 Pro offering. I wish I could say that I could choose an alternate PC accounting software version, however, that's not possible, as the accounting backup files for our company are based on the QuickBooks configuration. So I guess I am stuck with QuickBooks as our version, however, no way will I every buy another disk version again with the shoddy packaging I encountered. I guess I am also stuck with having to now purchase QuickBooks 2015 Pro as an online download action. However, with my experience, I believe that Intuit should be ashamed of themselves with this terrible overall customer experience that I went thru. The only reason that I am posting this review on Amazon, is that for any of you who are thinking about getting QuickBooks Pro 2015 as the PC Version on a CD disk, BUYER BEWARE!!...
