Fantastic tool
This simplify working in my VW so much! I don't know how did I go without this tool for so long. I love that once you open a spring loaded strap, the tool is self locking, locks in position making removal and installation of hoses much easier.

Great value!
The good: This has made my life so much easier. I used to have to use channel locks to get the VW hose clamps off and it was a huge pain. This tool is awesome. It clamps them open, then locks them open, so I can easily move the clamp out of the way with zero effort.The bad: there have been a few times where the tool wasn’t attached or aligned just so and it was a real pain to get the tool off the clamp. But for the price, I expect a little difficulty. I really do love this product.

Use for very small hose clamps, doesn't open very wide!
I bought this with the intention of using it on radiator hose clamps. Well, that didn't go so well considering these can't even fit over top of them without using pliers to squeeze it closer first. After using them for a month, one of the edges it uses to catch the prong literally fell off when I picked it up. I don't know what grade of metal they're using, but for the price, it's probably JUNK.

Poor quality locking mechanism
These aren't totally awful, but they're definitely not great. They are universal to a fault. The locking mechanism is not powerful enough to keep the clamp engaged on larger hose clamps, which is half the usefulness of the tool. There are definitely better options available out there.

I usually bring the car somewhere if I have a hard time, figured i'd do this job and without this set of pliers it would have been down the road., I would have never got to those clamps. worked great, hopefully ill never have to do that job again.

Great tool, have some issues compressing really SMALL clamps but the product was a real lifesaver!

Cheap price, cheap quality. I hear the Astro ones are better, I bought snap on to replace this one.
Worked good for a few jobs, then the locking mechanism stripped out, now you have to hold it, or it releases the clamp. I bought a snap-on one to replace it, I don't have time to mess with tools that don't work right.
