Stylish and practical display solution
The media could not be loaded. I love this piece. It was really easy to assemble all my own. It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble. The quality of the shelves anns rails are great, I was concerned they may be flimsy which was a concern for me initially. I think this is a great quality item for the price point. I would definitely recommend. The hardware and screws were all included, in this item a ton of storage in display space.

Perfect in every way
The Theo Bookcase checks all the boxes for me. I shopped and compared a dozen different "ladder" syle, wall-mounted bookshelves before choosing this one. I liked this one because it has 6 shelves, compared to five shelves on most. It is 30" wide compared to 23" wide (or less) on most shelves offered. The most important feature I needed was the ability to clear the baseboard heating unit, which it does easily by 3"-4".I got this for our small vacation home that doesn't have a lot of extra space to place furniture, but I MUST have a place to keep my books! And because the few available spaces have the baseboard heat I want to be careful what I put in front of them. This shelf unit fits the available space perfectly and feels very secure with the frame screwed into the wall at the top. I also really like the all-white unit as it blends in with the white wall, making a cleaner uncluttered look. The finish on the shelves is very smooth and nice (and no worries, the plant on the top shelf has a padded mat under it!)The box is heavy so it helps to have two people to lift and carry it. After that the assembly can easily be done by one person and is very simple and straightforward. You might want two people again at the wall mounting stage so that one person can hold the unit in place while the other checks the level and marks for the wall screws, and then holds it in place for screwing in the brackets.I can't overstate how happy I am with the Theo bookcase! It is exactly what I envisioned.

Beautiful
I’m so happy I decided to purchase this shelf. It was super easy to install by myself and it looks great. Including unpacking it, it took me roughly 20 mins to install each shelf. I also purchased the Nathan James desk to go alongside it. The shelves are not real wood but a laminated MDF which I don’t mind cause there still really sturdy. If you mount the shelf in a stud you will be fine but if not I don’t recommend using the screws and plugs they provide as there small and crappy. I personally used metal plugs and the shelf isn’t going anywhere. The price is pretty high for this product not to have real wood shelves but I totally recommend this product.

Impressed with the quality and finish
Wow, this shelf has some weight to it. The build quality is nice and the finish looks real. With that being said, it's not real, solid wood. It's MDF with laminated skins but feels as heavy as solid wood. I'm quite surprised. Usually, with MDF, the board splits when you tighten the screw down too tight. On this, I didn't see any signs of that. Each hole on the shelf is reinforced with a metal insert. The only exception is when you are building the drawers though. No metal inserts for the mating/joint panels. Kind of like the IKEA screw standoff lock screw (I'm pretty sure there is a proper name for that screw.)The laminated look is realistic. The print doesn't look fake. My date looked at the shelf and was impressed. It has an earthy, rustic feel. It flows nicely with my IKEA furniture. It could double down as a media shelf for your AV system.Installation is a breeze. All the parts are labeled. All you need is a Philips screwdriver and maybe a 2nd person. I didn't have a 2nd person on hand, only 2 beagles who weren't helpful lifting the shelf. lol. But, easy-to-follow instructions, high-quality parts and screws, Allen head tool is provided, and the same with the wall anchors. I would probably use your own wall anchors if you are going to put more than average weight and for peace of mind. It's nice that they provided the anchors but I usually like to overdo and not have the shelf leaning forward down the road.I'm very impressed with the Nathan James lineup. I can't wait for my coffee table to arrive.Oh, and one last thing. When you are putting all this together, it's best to secure one side of the bottom cabinet support in place, which I think is piece E, then put all the shelves in place. The reason I say this is that you will be using Allen head screws to secure the bottom support to the cabinet. It's hard to use an Allen key in that area.

Beautiful and a little tricky but though easy to install
I'm in corporate furniture so I watch a LOT of furniture be assembled, plus I've spent my whole life building Ikea furniture at home, so I'd call myself on the handier side of the scale, as is my husband. That said, the 40 minutes assembly estimate is aggressive for the unit with drawers. If you've done it before, maybe you could bang it out in 40, but it took us almost two hours. The bookshelf we'd have had done in 30, I'm quite certain. Some tricks for install:The drawer glides! The directions don't do a stellar job of telling you how to orient them in the encasement, and I installed three of them before I realized they were going in upside down. They LOOKED upside down, but I kept checking the graphic and going Nope, I got this, this is how they go.... and then checking again, and again, until I was installing the third and realized they were, in fact, upside down. Few minutes lost, but que sera.Vertical build: Once you have the parts completed and you're going to put the shelves on the uprights, lay one upright on it's side and place the shelves/cabinet on it, securing them, and then lay the second upright on top. Trust me on this one.Wall anchoring: The instructions call for a 1/4" drill bit to prep for the wall anchors, but for us that was TOO BIG. Thankfully one of them hit a stud, so we don't have to take it down/patch/paint/redrill, nor do we need a run to the hardware store for a larger anchor, but use caution when blindly following the instructions like I did.Handles: I bought the white/natural wood one, and it shipped with black metal handles. I get it, everyone gets the same handles, but they would like 400 times better if they were white. The black, in our mostly white kitchen, on this white shelving unit, is jarring. So we're spray painting them. All in all this is a beautiful and function unit that I've placed in my kitchen, storing coffee and recipe cards in the bottom drawer, tea and cheeseclothes in the top drawer, and frequently used pans/a couple cookbooks/some decor on the shelves. It looks fantastic, and I would absolutely recommend.
