Ideal smoke detector
Easy to install and configure, and pairing it with Home Assistant via zigbee was simple. Quite nice that it reports smoke density as a sensor as well. I have it installed in the kitchen and have had no false-positive alarms so far, even when cooking produces steam.

So much more capable than just a smoke detector
Great device, easy to set up and integrate into systems like Home Assistant. I now have four of these, if any detect smoke, all the lights in the house turn on full brightness, the front and side doors unlock (Aqara U209 door locks) the smart speakers tell me which device has detected the smoke and which door to leave by. So far only tested with burnt bacon but it all worked!

Good chose
Another good product from Aqarq , I give only 4 stars because is only smoke detecting if that will be combined which carbon monoxide will be perfect. Maybe new version will have both.

Great device from Aqara.
Another great product from Aqara. I've now got 6 Aqara smoke detectors, all linked and connected to the Aqara app and Home Assistant. I've set it up so that if one alarms, they all sound. This is simply a setting in the app, you could set it up so that only the one that detects smoke alarms, it's up to you. Another superb feature that I've enabled with the app is that if the smoke alarms detects smoke, the app switches on the lights and turns the colour of the light red (red is one of the best colours to illuminate smokey environments). While I use HOME ASSISTANT to do some fancy automations, most of the most useful automation can be done in the Aqara app. I thoroughly recommend this product.

AVOID! Outdated doesn't connect.
Totally useless. Bought several of these and the Aqara hub. It's unable to connect to the hub which is 5 metres away as the signal is too weak. So it is basically just a dumb smoke detector. Junk.

Plug and play protection
So easy to install using the sticky pads, pairs in seconds with your Aqara hub for peace of mind and protection. Already planning several more for around the house and even better - you can set it so that if one goes off, they ALL go off so no matter where you are, you are safe

All good for now.
So far so good. I’m carefully optimistic about reliability. I’m using these with a Hub M2 which was very tricky to add to Apple Home, but once that was successful, the rest was a breeze.

Good for Insurance, Zigbee support but expensive and fast battery discharge
I used to use the original Honeywell/Xiaomi (JTYJ-GD-01LM) imported for China since 2016 with Zigbee that have been fantastic. Unfortunately, insurance would not cover since not Uk approved. In comparison, these "official" Aqara are a big step backwards: - much bigger, almost 50% larger for some reason - the original Honeywell/Xiaomi are petite - uses expensive CR17450 battery vs cheap CR123 that seems to be down to 25% after 1 year (I have 4 and they are all about the same) - despite OTA, no firmware updates - if anything Zigbee2Mqtt reports firmware (19) is newer than public (17) - expensive, even on deal - sure things have gone up but we're talking 2x cost uplift. Buy from Amazon Germany, France, etc if you're buying more than one - even with postage they are usually 20% less (yes including VAT that AZ adds wherever you buy from) The good is that it works well, integrates well with either Aqara hub or Zigbee2mqtt. Since it is "Uk"/Eu model and sold by Amazon itself - insurance is Ok with it. Note that if you use Zigbee2Mqtt/Home Assistant etc - you need to "link them up" yourself through automation for all of them to alarm if one of them detects smoke. If you use Aqara hub then just enable linking up. I like the new features like flashing led (customise time e.g. every 60 secs) or regular test (e.g. once a week Saturday) and so on. Sadly, if you want Zigbee smoke alarm from a brand that is insurance approved (so no imported no name) there are few choices. Get it on sale and stock up on CR17450 batteries.

Klare Empfehlung!
