Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Signature Round Sauteuse, 3.5qt., Sea Salt

The lid was scratched, the color didn't match with the picture, the size was not correct. Inner surface was uneven. Asked to return the product, but more than a week has passed without collection. A refund was allegedly issued, but Im yet to see the credit on my card invoice.

Le Creuset 5.5 qt dutch oven - purchased as a gift for my daughter - she collects the Indigo color. As you would expect, Le Creuset is a good, heirloom purchase. With care, they will last your cooking life. They are heavy (cast iron) - my daughter has a gas stove and so the cast iron is a perfect choice. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.

I cook a lot and this is by far the most versatile and now, the most used pot/pan in my kitchen. It’s a skillet/frying pan that browns food well, a deep skillet, a sauce pot, a soup pot, a casserole dish, and a stove-to-oven pan. So versatile! The size is great for 4-6 servings, depending on what you’re cooking. I bought the licorice colour and it’s a matte black, but with enough sheen not to be boring. Definitely pretty enough to use as a serving dish. I’ve been using it so often, I keep it on the stove since it looks so nice. This is my first Le Creuset and I am very impressed. Heats well, easy to clean, and this size is easy to handle. Even fits in my Breville counter oven. I have a 5 quart inexpensive Chefmate Dutch oven and wanted the 5.5 quart Le Creuset Dutch Oven, but thought it silly since mine cooks fine. But having used this, I see such better quality, that it’s back on my wishlist now. That said, I’d still want this 3.5 quart size for its versatility and easy handling. I can see both getting a lot of use.

This stays on my stovetop for everyday use. Holds the heat beautifully, great for soup, stew, or to cook up a few chicken thighs. Not the big big pot, but just the right size for the two of us and leftovers. These pots are heavy, but that is just part of what they are.
