A Timeless Classic That Still Outruns Modern Racers
Mario Kart: Double Dash is one of those rare games that sticks with you long after you’ve switched the console off. I picked up a copy again for my GameCube collection, and it’s every bit as good as I remember. The dual-character mechanic is the star of the show. Switching between driver and item-thrower adds a surprising layer of strategy you don’t get in other Mario Kart titles. It’s simple enough for casual players to jump right in, but there’s real depth for anyone who wants to master it. The track design is brilliant—bright, chaotic, and full of personality. Favourites like DK Mountain and Baby Park still manage to get the whole room shouting. The handling feels smooth and responsive, even by today’s standards, and each kart has a noticeably different feel, which keeps things interesting. What really sets Double Dash apart is the multiplayer. Four-player mode is just pure chaos in the best way possible, and co-op racing (two people controlling the same kart) is still one of the most fun couch co-op experiences ever made. If you're collecting retro games or just want a dose of nostalgia, this is absolutely worth owning. It holds up beautifully and, honestly, still beats half the modern racers on charm alone. A brilliant entry in the Mario Kart series.

Great game.
One of my old time favourite games. Such a fun game. The cd was in excellent condition. This worked in the UK game Cube and it can be played on the Wii. Can't fault it.

I was excited to add the game to my collection when I came home to see it a ball of bubble wrap with a game that has a big scratch across the middle on the bubble wrap it said that disc was of acceptable condition when I ordered it in good condition maybe it was the delivery I don’t know but the game is nice

Brilliance in a kart
Mario Kart: Double Dash is the continuation of the much loved Mario Kart series and, despite me reviewing it 10 years late, it's still brilliant today. When I dust off the Gamecube, this is one of the first titles out, and even holds its own to Mario Kart Wii! With a whole slew of tracks, different game modes (aside from racing, there are battle modes) and combinations of characters, there's a lot here to keep it going - not including the unlockables. It's a brilliant social game that everyone feels like they can play due to being so well balanced. There's been points where the veterans have even lost due to the newbies getting the upper hand! If you're getting a Gamecube, make sure this is part of your games collection. It's essential!

It's Mario Kart...of COURSE it's brilliant!
Not the greatest Kart ever, but it marked a new level in complexity for the Kart evolution, and the innovative (if not sorely missed) dual play aspect whereby two of you could ride one kart and thereby become extra fast and dynamic and effective, did at least make full use of your tv screen for two-player fun. And, like any Kart game before and since, it was ridiculous fun and provided the majority of hours of your Nintendo multiplayer fun. With Goldeneye on the N64 as perhaps the sole exception.

Bought it as a gift for my husband who loved playing this as a kid. Works super well, no issues. I had ordered from another company a few months ago and the disc never worked so I was doubtful this would work but it came on with no issues. Very happy with my purchase :)
