This is an easy to use digital recorder with very good sound quality. I use this product mostly to record music jam sessions with musician friends. Then, later on, I download the best takes to my laptop for YouTube video generation. This recorder creates .aac files which are not useable for video creation using the Microsoft Movie Maker software I own therefore I had to purchase a conversion software to generate .mp4 files. .aac files offer better sound quality than .mp4 files but are not universally accepted. Other than is small inconvenience and the so so instruction booklet, I highly recommend this recorder.

I got this for work, we communicate very critical information over radio and I wanted this as a 'black box' to cover my you know what in a 'he said, she said' situation. A friend had an older one from Walmart that didn't have a memory card but I liked the small size so I looked up the brand and found one but it wouldn't be delivered until March 8th...that's unacceptable, so I came to Amazon as I usually do anyway, and found this which is WAAAAAAY better for just a little more, and much quicker delivery (though it did come a day late). I love the touchscreen, it came with a 128gb memory card and charging cable, was completely dead on arrival but charged up quickly enough to turn it on and set it up. Full charge took about two hours.It has every function you can think of and some you didn't know you wanted or needed. The quality is great, both build quality as well as recording quality. I did buy the protective case that was recommended as a 'bundle' which is also really nice. You can use the screen only (except you need to use the physical record button or the side slide/power button to wake it up) for all functions, or you can use the physical buttons for 'old school' appeal and feel.Highly recommend. It's worth the price.

Transcription is not trainable, may improve with time.

Very good product. As a recorder, it’s excellent; as a transcriber it could still be improved, but it does save a lot of time in transcription. The screen is very good, as are the functionalities and recording modes. It’s easy to transfer documents and audio files. It’s built with materials that give a solid impression of its construction—no plastic or cheap-looking parts. It would be ideal if they released a silicone case or cover to protect it from drops and scratches. Nice Battery.Muy buen producto. Ideal si sacaran una funda o carcasa en silicona para protegerla de caídas o rayones. Buena capacidad de batería.

I'm giving this five stars even though the transcription service is inadequate. If you want it for transcription, the audio output is very strong and it will work well with MS Office Dictation, provided your internet service is adequate. The instructions are well-written, and you may need them. This is not your typical voice recorder, such as from Olympus or Sony. I have both of those brands and I like them. The quality and features of this recorder are a different level. Very sturdy and you can turn off all exterior lights. If you are looking for a recorder that you can carry discreetly and recharge at the end of the day, this recorder is perfect.
