What kind of protective packaging is inside the black gift box to protect the glasses during transit?

If I remember correctly (I gave these for Christmas presents), the box had it's own self-contained area that the glasses fit into. The whole presentation was very luxurious and sturdy. I wish I had taken pictures of it because it was quite impressive and special. Then, of course, that box is placed into the shipping box, which had packing as well.

Does it come with a nice card/ note description explaining these are handmade?

I don't know but it did arrive gift wrapped and the company who makes them aren't me an email explaining that they were individual and handmade. You could forward the email to the recipient. They are beautiful and the bride I sent them to loved them.

What are the dimensions of each glass?

It doesn't come with dimensions, but I am guessing it will hold a bottle of wine! They are gorgeous!
