Never a dull moment
As what you expect from a Hayes manual. Building a Spitfire next.

Bought this for my dad building up his own Moto Guzzi and he loves it
This was a present for my dad, who is in the process of fixing up a Moto Guzzi. Apparently it never leaves his hands and is a great tool.

Basic work only
Whilst I have always used haynes manuals before this is the first time that i had bought one originaly written so long ago. I found the book seriously lacking in detail for anything more than a routine service. For example no torque settings for any bolts, and lots of missing information. And if you want to sort any electrical faults (pretty much guaranteed on a 20+ year old italian bike) you definitely need to look elsewhere. The whole electrical section is based around the now outdated premise that multimeters are beyond the price reach of any home mechanic and so any electrical work should be entrusted to a garage. It may cost a whole lot more but if you really intend working on your bike a genuine Guzzi workshop manual is pretty much a must have, that and Guzziology.

Got a Guzzi Got a Grin
I have been looking for this book for a while. Being a Guzzi owner it is a good starting point for all routine maintenance and also includes some very useful technical information. Purchasing the book was a very simple process and I was pleasantly surprised that a second hand workshop manual would be in such good condition.

This maintenaince manual is not a very good substitute for an owner's manuals.
It is a substitute for an owner's manual, which I can't find.

The best things don't change
My Guzzi is a 1984 California II which is, technically, not covered in this manual. But most everything I need to know on a basic level is pretty much included.

A Must-Have
Like all Haynes manuals, this one is full of practical info & not just a rehash of a factory manual. All the stuff you need to know, lots of good pictures & no references to 'Special Tool ABC123' This is made for an average person working in their home garage.Specifically in regards to the Guzzi, I paid $40 for a badly photocopied version of the factory manual & it was practically useless. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the existence of "Guzziology" However, this one will get you through the basics & I wouldn't mind getting a few grease smudges on it.
