A great coffee percolator
An excellent buy at a sensible price, (the most expensive isn’t always the best!)A nice looking coffee percolator easily cleaned and which has retained it’s lovely shiny finish after continual use. It’s performance matches it’s looks and simple design and gives us constant HOT coffee within minutes of re pressing the one on/off button. We’re so impressed we have ordered another as a standby, ready to take over when the current one wears out!A totally uncomplicated machine which produces a piping hot tasty cup of coffee.Well deserving of the five stars given.

Excellent product!
This percolator has a classic look, reminiscent of the fifties. Its stainless steel manufacture ensures that it is sturdy, with a lasting polish requiring only a wipe to keep it looking pristine as well as allowing it to hold the heat once the coffee has finished percolating. I also love the reassuring sound of the coffee bubbling up into the clear (plastic) bulb at the top and the strength of the brew itself can be easily and accurately controlled from mellow to strong simply by regulating the amount of coarse-ground coffee to suit your taste.Once brewed the coffee is automatically kept hot for about 30 minutes.

Neither supplier nor Amazon can provide support when broken after 5 months use
Not recommended - Bought at end of January. Broken and according to the supplier unfixable now just over 5 months later. Refuses to heat up although power on. Made good coffee most of the time before that, although occasionally switched off perking a bit early making for weak coffee. Supplier provides no support - website link does not recognise product and when phoned says ask ask Amazon for a replacement /repair - which they won't do.

UPdated: Good, but needs looking after
Like other reviewers, this was bought to replace a 1970s percolator, as we have never found anything that makes coffee quite so well. This is the first coffee maker that can make coffee just as good, but it is temperamental. We tried a much more expensive drip coffee machine, but that was worse. The basket has a few fine holes, and only in the bottom, so the water gets a good steep time on the grounds. It also sits proud of the jug on a spring, and the tube extends higher, into the clear plastic bit so you can watch it splurt. This actually makes it much easier to get in/out, and get the lid on. But the lid itself is can be very stiff, which is a good thing while brewing and pouring, but a bit of a pain for cleaning/filling. Might smooth out with some more use. I do half miss the little filling line clip that was cunningly designed to fall off in the sink every time, but not actually go down the plug holes, but as the assembly is easier to handle with the rod and basket attacked, I don't find myself filling with the rod in, so it wouldn't work anyway. There was a burning plasticy smell from the element on first use (no grounds), not noticed on a second run with clean water. To brew, I measured water in using our mugs, then read the inside measure to get how many 'cups' it thinks that is, and then used that many coffee scoops of ground coffee in the basket, and it came out full of flavour, not a hint of bitterness. Second run, not so great. The mechanism relies on a little washer that doesn't seem so reliable, and it appeared to not blop properly at all. Third one was ok, but weak and over heated. Watching it work and jiggling it to make sure it pops properly seems ok, but led me to realise - it gets too hot at the bottom and doesn't circulate the water well at the end. The heater is a little too strong. In fact, stopping it for a few seconds lets it cool a bit and pump water. So, it is possible to get a nice percolated cup of coffee from this, and some parts are better, but there's something iffy about the heater.

Electric percolator
I replaced my pod coffee machine with this percolator because 1. I needed more room on my counter and 2. The pods used in my machine were not recyclable. This makes excellent coffee and is a nice clean design.

Excellent
Our previous Quest percolator gave up recently, after years (? 7-8) of trouble-free daily use, so we bought a replacement from the same firm. The Mk2 has an improved coffee filter and just one button, which being at the front, makes it easier to see if the thermostat needs re-activating.
