Amazing vacuum! So many features!! And a Black Friday STEAL!!
Buy it! Especially on Black Friday! $699 is soooo worth it for all the features you get! You will love it! I did tons of research before jumping in and watched so many videos and product reviews on YouTube from vacuum wars and many other reputable sources, and this little vacuum really performs well and lives up to its excellent reputation! Specifically, I’m reviewing the Q Revo Edge, not the Q Revo Edge S5A. I didn’t realize at first that all the reviews are mixed. There really are differences between them. I’ve only had my Edge for a couple weeks now, and I’m already in love. I’ve had several different robot vacuums and used them regularly over the past 9 years. Roborock has officially won me over! My previous favorite was my Roomba S9+, which was cutting edge at the time, but Roombas haven’t been able to keep up with all the new tech and AI features that are hitting the robot vacuum market. The other brands are passing them by. Roborock earned my business now! I bought a second unit for upstairs so I don’t have to move the vac and base around. And got a third unit for my daughter as a wedding gift! As a family, we now have 3 different Roborock models and love them all. This Edge maps a room instantly upon entering the room. It’s incredible!! My roomba took forever and needed multiple runs that took half a day each to even generate a map. Not roborock! I was able to map my entire downstairs 3500 sq ft in approximately 30 minutes!! The only areas mine had difficulties with was floor mirrors and mirrored sliding closet doors, which makes sense. Its cameras are looking right through them and thinking the room continues through the wall! Lol! I just taped a piece of paper on the bottom edges so the vacuum could see the barrier and it mapped perfectly moving forward. Setup was a breeze! No crazy assembly required. Just unbox, plug in the base, fill mop basins with water, and set it in place! It came with a little charge already, so I started a quick map in less than 10 minutes from my Amazon delivery man dropping it at my door! I got right to adding room names and barriers in the app and created a few custom routines for myself. For my upstairs, I used the clean and map combo step for its first initial run, but honestly, I didn’t feel it did as good of a job at either one. I would recommend just mapping your house really quick, then letting it go back for your custom cleaning choices. App is great, and technical support responds 24/7! That’s a win for newbies especially. You can tell the app which type of floor each room has and select how to handle each room. For example, my dusty laundry room or busy entryway is set for a more powerful vacuum suction and double passes, and my bathrooms are set for vacuum and mop, where my wood floors are set to vacuum only. I love that!! I would definitely recommend you use chat gpt to help you unlock and learn features and help you navigate through the menus and settings quickly, especially the first couple weeks while you’re learning the app. It was way faster than the help menu or user guide! The lift chassis really works. I watch it climb over thresholds, cords, and more. It really is a blessing! That one feature helps it so much to avoid obstacles and get out of tough situations that would have normally tripped up my other vacuum models and caused a stuck error message and halted the cleaning cycle. I think that feature is specific to the Edge not the S5A. The mop has lots of settings, and you can control exactly how much water it uses and how deeply it scrubs. The base works great and keeps the mop heads way cleaner than I expected. It literally scrubs them clean for you and air dries them! We are in Florida, so that’s a huge win since the humidity slows the natural air dry process and things can sometimes smell mildewy. I’m not having any trouble thus far! Keep in mind the mop is more of a maintenance mop. Nothing beats elbow grease and a little extra scrubbing pressure! These robot vac/mop combos do their best, but you definitely have to expect they don’t have the ability to deep clean and scrub grout and corners very well. They are comparable to you taking a damp mop or rag and running it quickly across your floors. These models don’t take any cleaning solution, just water, which is fine for me. I don’t like the residues the soaps leave behind. This one does a fantastic job separating the dirty and clean water and keeping mopheads looking fresh even during cleaning cycles! And it has a smart detect setting you can turn on to let it go back over really big messes! The vacuum portion has tons of settings for suction power too. Keep in mind the higher the power you choose, the faster you’ll drain your battery and the louder it will be. Definitely try their default “balanced” setting and see the real world results in your home. You can choose carpet boost or avoid carpets altogether. I love all the options! It’s easy to dial it in so you get the best clean for each and every zone in your house. Noise level is completely dependent on the setting you choose. I’ve been super impressed and rarely have to use it on full power, if ever. Don’t let the 18,000+ ratings be your only deciding factor between models you’re interested in. They very rarely are operating at full strength. Plus, these ratings aren’t regulated in the vacuum industry, so every brand uses a different system. Some measure inside the unit power and some are measuring the actual sucking power. It’s not apples to apples. How well these units work in the real world really depends on many factors in the overall vacuum design and its brushes and reach. I love the no go zones and the option to send it back to only certain zones for a quick or deep clean. That’s how I handle things like quick spills, dirt tracked in from the front door unexpectedly, or to vacuum up the dirt at the bottom of my stairs. I know it can’t climb stairs yet, so I just use a swiffer to knock all the dust to the bottom of the stairs and send the vacuum to just that little square to grab all the dirt for me! I also use the no go and specific zone cleaning so I can slide furniture around and clean under dining tables and such. I just block out the table as the room is being cleaned, then send it back at the end to do just the table area after I slide all the chairs out of the way. This way I don’t have to lift every chair off the floor. There are so many uses for this feature!! The sky is the limit! One thing I’m not in love with is, they just updated their settings for most of their robot vacuums to start with the edges first, then do the middles. Some vacuums I’ve had in the past started with the edges, did the middles of the rooms, then finished one more time around the edge. I miss that! I’ve seen lots of feedback on their forums from lots of people saying they miss that too. Hopefully Roborock will add that feature back in…so we as users can control extra passes for edge sweeping! The good thing is Roborock really does listen to customer feedback and are always improving their settings and their app! They seem to be a great company that really take pride in being the best! Honestly, there is so much more I could say! I’ve got the Saros 10 too dedicated only for downstairs now. My Edge is upstairs. I had to get the Saros 10 because I have some lower furniture and cabinets that my Edge could not get under. Keep that in mind when you’re deciding between models! Take your ruler with you to your lowest points throughout your home. Look on the centimeter side, not the inches. If it’s under 10 cm high, go with the Saros 10 or Saros 10R. If mopping is your priority, the Saros 10R is awesome. If vacuuming and long battery life or getting it in the color white is your priority, then go with this Edge or Saros 10. All are good, but slightly different. Keep in mind sometimes the models look the same, but the prices are slightly different. It’s usually a different base, or has the ability to connect in to a plumbed-in water source and fill and drain itself through your plumbing, or drop its mop heads, or has a liftable chassis, or it can retract its lidar sensors on top to go under furniture. Every little feature adds a little to the price. Pick the features that make sense to you. Don’t just go based off reviews. Your needs are specific to you. I personally loved the Edge models soooo much because they truly get corners and along my baseboards well, and their anti-tangle, no hair technology works exceptionally well! My roomba and even my manual vacuum are always getting hair wrapped around the brushes. These roborock ones look brand new every pass!! I can only imagine how that will help its performance stay strong and last longer! They sync with Alexa and Google Home fine, but seem a little nuanced. I’m still figuring out the best way to set that up for voice control. This Edge has voice control built right into it so you can actually talk directly to the robot and don’t even have to use Alexa. I usually find I just use the app. That way I can toggle between my two stories and choose how deeply I feel like vacuuming or mopping each room. You can’t beat the Black Friday pricing. I was happy buying the Edge for $999, but on Black Friday week, it was $699!! I was thrilled! That was quite a deal for all the amazing tech and features! I’m in love with buying it through Amazon cause I love the next day shipping, and using my Prime credit card to get those 5% rewards or their 6 and 12 month 0% promos!! For big purchases like this, that’s a win!! Buy it now, take 12 months to pay if it’s over $600!! That made it possible for me to get a second unit for my second story!! Thank you Amazon!! P.S. I use 2 models daily in my home. I have the Saros 10 and the Edge, and I have to say…I love this Edge more!!! My daughter and son-in-law love their new Edge S5A too. It has a few less features than mine and went for $549 on Black Friday, $699 on normal sales. Hope this helps!

"Lifechanging"
We are two weeks into owning our first robot vacuum (the Qrevo Edge) and my wife's exact words after day 3 was "this is lifechanging for me". We have 3 hair shedding pets, kids and full time jobs. It was already a challenge to even vacuum the entire house once a week, any regular mopping was absolutely out of the question. For reference, our floors consist of some carpet, several large area rugs/runners, but mostly tile that is indistinguishable from real wood floors) - Tiles are ADA approved so they do have quite a bit of 'texture' to make them non-slip. The Qrevo Edge has no issues sucking up any debris from the textured tiles, nor does the mop have any issues thoroughly cleaning them. It does an amazing job distinguishing tile from rugs and the corner sweep and mop extension capability is just amazing. Setup is honestly a breeze. just a few parts to put together for the base, and add sweeping brush and mop pads to the main unit & download the app. I don't remember if the first thing it did was dock itself and fully charge, or if it went ahead and ran around the house mapping before fully charging. After it had performed it's inaugural run using default settings (Vac & Mop), and I started working on custom routines and schedules. Once completed, it ran on schedule without any further prompting from me with the exception of alerting me to dump & refill the mop solution (by voice from the device during awake hours and app alerts on my phone). I also received only ONE error after it's initial run in which the dock reported an blockage issue. The volume of hair/debris got clogged at the gate just before entering the bag - I pulled out a seriously dense clump of dog/cat hair with chunks of dried mud that all came out in one 'pull'. This only happened during the initial run and has not happened since. I had honestly expected the robot to clog up but to it's credit no hair was on the rollers and it's pretty clear to me the base suction when emptying the robot is more than adequate to pull everything out of the robot itself. We probably had not vacuumed for two weeks prior to the initial run, and now it runs daily so I do not expect that to ever happen again. I do have a few suggestions for your initial setup: The robot's first run around your house is just for mapping only, it uses lidar, is amazingly accurate and fast (as in you won't be able to get in front of it and clear paths quick enough). Prep your house BEFORE you start it. It really is so much easier to start with a clean mapping vs having to make edits to the map and your routines because a door was closed and it couldn't map somewhere, or it picks up an obstacle that normally will not be there and puts it on your map. This is key as it will both make you map editing much easer later on (should you need it), and make setting up routines easier. Note the built in device Lidar does an amazing job at this task! - I put the breakfast and dining room chairs upside down on top of their respective tables to clear the floor. Map dose show the table legs as obstacles but by lifting the chairs I avoided having the chair legs also create perceived barriers. - I also picked up any floor baskets, small rugs (shower mats, bathroom mats, etc.. - don't worry, the software will adjust for the rugs during a later run when you add them back). I also recommend doing the same for any movable furniture that will shift around (*like small foot rests/ottomans, desk chairs, etc.) Place them out of the way for the first run if possible. Once mapped you can use the app to edit and add walls. We have a common, shared space with the kitchen/living room that I added a line to divide the spaces (and name accordingly). This was the space I edited 2x to get it right where I wanted it to be (was a bit difficult on a small phone screen). If you error with a wall - just use the option to merge the two rooms together and then edit again to add the virtual wall back in. *Just give the app about 30-45 seconds after you save to update on the screen. The No-Go Zone worked perfectly and after it's creation the robot quit trying to vacuum the Christmas Tree skirt. The zone is easily removed once I no longer need it. Just play with the cleaning settings if you find the default is not good enough, and keep making adjustments until your happy with the outcomes. For us, the major compromise is if I have it use multi pass, and have the Vacuum set to Turbo with Mopping set to High Water flow - it's going to take all day as it will have to recharge at least twice (and I suspect more likely a 3rd time) to cover the almost 2k sqft downstairs. Charging takes several hours to complete. For now, we are trying 2 basic cleaning schedules where on Mon, Tue & Thurs, Fri it runs a quick vacuum only (multi-pass) routine of the common use areas starting at 7am in the morning & then it gets the rest of the bedrooms/bathrooms in the afternoon when the doors are more likely open and available to clean. On Wed/Sat it runs duplicated routines but they are programmed to initially vacuum then Mop using the Heavy settings of those same areas. Sunday I can manually send it to clean the sun room which it can get down into but not back up and out of due to the door's weatherproof threshold and house elevation for stepping down to what was an outdoor porch. I'm going to try 3d printing a ramp after Christmas to fix the exiting issue - but for now, I just listen out for it to alert and then lift it back over the threshold so it can return to it's dock). I'm really glad I waited until this level of robot cleaner was available. I've had friends with much earlier models (from other vendors) and this is clearly a massive improvement for both functionality and App UI. I like this so much I will be considering purchasing a 2nd one for upstairs later this year. At this point, the only outstanding question is durability.... I'll follow up if there are any issues there.

Great when new , not durable
I’m really sad to be writing this. When I first bought this product, we loved it. We have two dogs that shed a lot, and this robot vacuum was perfect at first. But after about six months, it broke. At that point, I could have returned it and asked for a refund through Amazon, but I decided to work directly with Roborock. They replaced it with a new one. That new machine broke again after around two months. I contacted Roborock again, and this time they wanted to repair it. They sent it back—though it felt like a refurbished unit—and it broke again less than a month later. Now I’m dealing with the same issue for the third time. The product works great when it works, but it doesn’t last. In my experience, it’s good for about six months at best. For the price I paid, that’s way too expensive for something so short-lived. To be fair, Roborock’s support has always responded politely and helped each time. But I don’t have the time or patience to keep shipping a vacuum back every month. Looking back, I wish I had taken the refund instead of continuing with replacements. I really need a product like this, but my warranty is almost up, and I’m worried I’ll lose all the money I spent. Bottom line: great when new, not durable, and too costly for what you get. I’ll be looking for another brand—this has already been more headache than it’s worth.

I used to buy lots of vacuum robots, dreaming that everyday mopping would go away, we have 2 dogs and 2 cats, but till this year it was impossible. We left all our attempts to find the best deal and just did all the cleaning manually. When we got a small kitten and this little creature started to mess with litter all around the house said I'm going to buy a new one and got this tiny unit! My wife was sceptical about it, saying she would still have to mop after it but MIRACLE HAPPENED! Edge mop, wash, cleans sides so well so we can finally forget about everyday cleaning. We placed it near cat litter box and it mops away al the litter that cats drop without command, ty the AI. This thing is amazing, really. It's also quite quiet, only loud sound is emptying dust bag but you can manually schedule it at times it won't bother you.

This robot vacuum works fantastic. Huge improvement over older generations. I have it clean my entire center every night. Takes almost 3 hours of vacuuming/moping. But when I come in the next day everything looks clean.
