Wow!! Let's start with the box it came in, just the right size, perfect if you're going to gift it. The knife came super sharp, didn't even have to strop it. Beautifully crafted, handle is amazing, feels good when holding it . As far as how long it retains the edge I'm not sure yet but I'll follow up. So far this is an amazing knife and definitely worth the money.Things I didn't like:The sheath is real leather and sturdy, well carfter but the snap that holds the knife in place is on the blade side and gets in the way when stowing it so you have to hold the snap away from the blade when securing it carefully or you could end up with a trip to the hospital. The knife though craftsmanship and sharpener were top notch, it came with spotty dirty oil smudges, not a big deal, jist wipe it but since the knife itself is so nice,it would have made a better impression with a quick wipe down before boxing it.All in all I highly recommend this knife, almost don't want to use it as it's so nice!Update after testing and actually using it.So everything i said about this knife held true, for a kitchen knife. It's amazing with cutting meats and vegetables as well as fine slicing. Unfortunately not so good for the woods. Feathersticking was good but notching and buttoning failed terribly. Tip of the knife broke right off. So would highly recommend this beautiful knife to anyone that will use it in the kitchen but not for outdoors.

Knives are exactly as shown.They are sharp out of the box and well made. They lock into eachother very well, and do not take up much space. I'd recommend these to anyone.. Got what I wanted.

Handle is too short but finished and shaped well.Wood handle soaks can up water like a sponge, blade is thin and hollow ground not a step grind. Sheath is low quality very cheap.On the plus side blade has a wonderful shapeIf it had been flat ground would have been better.I forge knives this isn’t forged it’s too thin and hollow ground.I doubt its Japanese made for this price
