Work best with light fixtures
With these, the clue is in the name/title. 'Growing light fixtures' is the main function for these. Yes, they will accept a hanging basket (or any weight within tolerance), but they are most functional when used in a grow tent or undercover environment - such as hydroponic vegetable systems and so on. In such environments, the lights are suspended nearer to the plants and adjusted as the plants grow. That's where the quick release mechanisms etc come into their own and make it easy to adjust the height of a grow light. When it comes to hanging baskets, the release mechanisms will be of less use to you for daily watering because you will still need to get up to their height to release them. I hope this clarifies other reviewers comments about problems with the adjustability and helps give you a better frame of reference. With your expectations set appropriately, these are good value for money if you get full use out of them with regularly adjustable fixtures. If you want something solely for hanging baskets then these will work for you but only as a standard rop pulley.

Pully (Plant Pot) Holders
I got these for some hanging plants that I have in my conservatory. I do think they are manual and not automatic like a blind: I've found that I grab the 'triangle' and have my thumb on the lever to pull the plant down, and when I'm finished watering, pull on the cord to raise it up again. What I will say is that I don't have to hold on the cord whilst I'm watering and can keep both hands free at the triangle locks and stops the cable from pulling through. The release lever is spring loaded so clips back into place and locks the cable and stops it from wizzing through, and holds the plant pot where I pull it to. I do think the advert describes this manual handling in the description. I own a horse and personally, I just put a little pull release knot in the cable when the plant pot is up high - just for the day when this gizmo comes to the end of it's useful life. It feels strong enough to last a long time.
