After struggling with several supposedly "atomic" clocks that never synced properly, I decided to try this gold-framed version about a week ago and I'm happy to report it actually works as advertised! The initial setup was refreshingly simple - just insert an AA battery (not included), select your time zone, and wait for it to connect to the radio signal. Mine synced within about 2 hours of placement, and I was impressed that it automatically adjusted to the correct time without any fiddling on my part. The brushed gold aluminum frame looks much more expensive than the price would suggest - it has a subtle sheen that catches the light nicely without being too flashy or cheap-looking. The large black numbers against the white face make it incredibly easy to read from across my living room, which is perfect for my aging parents who visit frequently. I particularly appreciate the clear glass cover that doesn't distort the view from any angle. The size (14 inches) is substantial enough to be a focal point on my wall without overwhelming the space - it fits perfectly above my entryway table. There are a few minor drawbacks worth mentioning - the ticking is audible in a very quiet room, so I wouldn't recommend it for a bedroom if you're sensitive to sounds. Also, the manual suggests placing it away from metal objects or electronics which can limit placement options in some homes. I noticed it seems to lose signal occasionally when we have stormy weather, though it always reacquires within a day. The time zone selection button is on the back, which means you have to remove it from the wall if you ever need to change settings. Love love this clock! Gives the accurate time by itself! Just put the clock near the window, put a Panasonic battery and wait for a few minutes and voila! There is your time! I You can set the clock according to your time zone,e.g. CST for Central Time and it will adjusts accordingly to its daylight savings time too! So modern and advanced technology!!! OlalaH!

1 week, and still no radio signal to set clock. I even left it outside, and still nothing. I wish I could return it, but I opened the package too late that I'm outside the return window.

Worked great until the time change to Daylight Savings Time, then it didn't change the time! I went back through all the instructions and have everything set correctly. I live in the west coast time zone so the time zone was set to Pacific and the DST button was set to "On" so it was supposed to change to Pacific Daylight Savings time, but it didn't. I pulled the battery and put it back into the clock, walked away and came back later only to find that the clock was now reading 12:30 P.M. instead of 11:00 A.M. I used the reset button like the instructions said to force the clock to pick up the radio signal. The clock reset to 12:00 and when it started up again, it set itself to 12:45 P.M. I changed the battery and moved the clock to a different room and it finally picked up the correct time which just happened to be 12:00, so I'll see what happens during the next time change but my hopes are really low. I loved the clock before the time change, so I put the packaging in the recycle bin which was picked up a couple of days ago or I would have returned the clock.I am editing my review. The clock is keeping time now, but what I really want to tell you is that the seller reached out to me and offered a full refund no questions asked! That tells me that they really care about their customers and says a lot about the company! Since I couldn't return the clock, I didn't accept their kind offer as I would have felt like a thief, but I would definitely buy from this company again!
