Works perfectly. My Cane Corso doesn't mind wearing it at all, it's comfortable and sturdy. It takes a little time to adjust the straps and make sure the buckle slides are in the right place so it doesnt loosen. But once you have the right fit it's easy! Snaps on and off in seconds, easy to wash and quick to dry. I had the waistband on upside down the first couple days but, even though the fit was obviously off a little, it still worked! (I finally YouTubed a video to figure it out and, after putting it on right, it was 100% perfect.) Her partner Dog is a 120lb Cane Corso who can chew through walls and he couldn't figure a way around the PABS. And he tried!! I saw him pull at the straps with his teeth lol. My husband and I both work and it was in place every time we came home. You definitely need to wash it every day because of where you use it. The dog pees right through the mesh (it's plastic-y, not absorbent, so the pee runs right through) and because she can't directly lick her lady bits it gets kinda gross. I just wash it in the tub with a tiny bit of bleach and Tide, rinse well, pat dry then toss it in the dryer on medium for 10 min. It's a little stiff the first few days but after wear and wash it's fine. She wore it for 17 days until we were sure her heat was over and the Male dog calmed down.TMI but it saved us the torture of having to seperate our dogs and made it less stressful for our Male dog who could still mount her and do his thing but kept her safe.Zero complaints and fantastic peace of mind.

I am sorry this product did not work for me. It seemed like a good concept. Dexter, the company owner tried to make it right. However, the company repeatedly send a different size than I ordered, the wrong number of diapers, etc. I ordered XL, and ultimately got 3 XXLs, and one L. I tried both the sizes but couldn't get these to fit on the dog. Perhaps that was my fault; If I had the right size, I couldn't figure out how to adjust it correctly. I spent a couple of hours on this because I wanted it to work. The instructions on fitting the device could be better, the picture lacks sufficient detail.Dexter, the owner was easily available by phone, and seemed more than willing to send replacements, so I have no idea what was going on. After 4 tries I returned them all. Dexter approved the refund and paid for the shipping.

A little tricky to get fitted properly, but once done is easy to use. Still, remember that animals with raging hormones will do anything to make nature take its course. This item can save you from unwanted pregnancy, but don't allow your dogs to go unsupervised because they can find ways to bite, chew, pull, or otherwise get around the barrier. It's good for some supervised playtime and protection. Good luck and be careful!

didn't work. Dog tore it off the first day

This is an amazing product as an alternative to spay or neuter. We have 130lb dogs and this passed the test. Our male tugged, pulled, tried to figure it out, and tried to slide it out of place. All to no avail!! It took us a few tries to get it perfectly adjusted. But once we did- it was locked down!! The best contraption we’ve ever tried and will purchase a new one for backup. Our only complaint is the flimsy plastic clips and D-rings- zip ties to the rescue. Metal would be more durable. The nylon in the fabric also makes the straps slip just enough to be dangerous. Frequent checks and tightening is key. Relieving herself with it on is a struggle- thank goodness it’s easily washable! The strap between the legs always gets pee on it. But, I’d rather have pee on a strap than a litter of puppies!!! She isn’t impressed with it on, but we sure are!!!

This is the only product I've found for protecting intact females against unwanted canine breeding; as such it offers some limited peace of mind for dog parents of unfixed female dogs. However there are some problematic drawbacks, mainly regarding the dog's comfort. The straps that go around the dog's thighs, when snug, do not allow for any normal range of movement. When adjusted slightly looser, the dog can run and walk with ease, though at that level of looseness I don't have confidence that in the heat of passion, those straps will keep the protective pouch in place. Its main benefit is to hopefully stay in place long enough for me to get over there in time to intervene. The main problem is when when she tries to sit or lie down those straps become way too tight. She'll try and try to sit down and then give up and just stand there. Generally if I see my girl trying to lie down I will release those straps so they are dangling free. However, both the waist belt and the strap at the very bottom also get really tight when she lies down so there has to be constant monitoring and adjusting. Another reviewer mentioned that elastic straps may solve this problem; I agree that may work for awhile but eventually elastic does stretch out. In any case, there is no way I would leave my girl alone with this contraption on with an intact male dog around since I have to continually monitor when she sits down, when she gets up. PABS is useful when we go for walks. I then adjust the side straps so they are somewhat loose, allowing her to run freely and also it keeps the pouch in place (though not snugly). At night I take the whole darn thing off and keep her right next to me through the night. Can't wait for her heat to be over. By the time her next heat comes my young intact male will have developed enough so he will be neutered and then I can dump this whole PABS thing. For now though, it seems to be serving its function, minimally.
