I recently acquired the I0DO Esthetician Portable Woods Lamp Skin Analyzer, and while my time with the device has been limited, my initial impressions are quite positive. Super tiny but it gets the job done

Ringworm! We adopted a cat and she was totally free of any signs of it, but we still did the standard two weeks of quarantine before introducing her to the other cat. Unfortunately, it appears she was an asymptomatic carrier and our other cat was diagnosed with ringworm within a couple of weeks of sharing the same space. The vet used a woods lamp at the office and so I knew exactly which lesion was glowing positive before getting this lamp. I wanted to be able to check the "carrier" kitty back at home, as well as keep track of the cat positive for ringworm during her five weeks of treatment. Well, this was on prime day sale and arrived quickly. It did show the original lesion on our kitty was significantly improved after a week of treatment, but still glowing - meaning the lamp did work for this particular strain of ringworm. It is also showing a large area on the head of the other cat and a spot on the nose, so we are off to the vet next week with her for testing and the inevitable medication for both cats. We had only avoided that because the new cat was so stressed that the vet was hoping to avoid a vet visit for the bloodwork until she was a little more socialized. Meanwhile, I was able to to check all bedding etc and found one cat tower that also glowed despite prior cleaning/disinfecting with ResCue (veterinary clinic grade product), but now 100% certian that is ringworm of saliva because new kitty tends to drool in her sleep. At any rate, it does glow to some body fluids. However, if looking for something to track down urine stains, I was shocked nothing glowed in the automatic litter box. It has been cleaned and sprayed regularly with ResCue, but my friend who does a lot of cat fostering said she almost always finds a spot or two on litter boxes. So, not sure if it is great for that use. Will update later if the vet says the spots on the new kitty's head are not ringworm, meaning it is giving a false positive.

This Cordless Wood's Lamp Ringworm Detection has good magnification, and lighting. It's easy to use, and it works well. It's a useful device to have on-hand. Did not have the correct frequency for ringworm or any thing I was looking for.

Very cheaply made, not as effective as anticipated.
