Better Than I Expected for 4C Hair - Although I got some Protips
Was skeptical to buy this cause I didn’t really find any information and reviews with people that had my kind of hair. I have true 4C hair and wanted to see how this would go. I did it and it’s worked great but I applied it a different way then was described and I think that helped with how long it has lasted for me. This is what I did: Step by step: How I applied ANSWR at home on 4C hair What you need Clarifying shampoo, wide tooth comb, towel, blow dryer, thermal brush (optional), and a flat iron that goes up to 450°F. 1. Start on clean hair Wash your whole head with a clarifying shampoo. Do not use conditioner, deep conditioner, oils, or leave in. Keratin needs a clean surface to bond. 2. Towel dry to damp - Your hair should be damp, not dripping wet. 3. Apply ANSWR evenly Spray the product all over. If your main goal is sleek leave out, you can saturate the perimeter and apply a lighter amount to the back. Comb through so every strand is coated. 4. Let it sit for as long as you can tolerate it. I watched a whole movie and left it in for basically 2 hours. Just put on a shower cap and chill. Your hair stays damp during this time. 5. Activate with heat BEFORE rinsing After the hour, blow dry your entire head with the product still in your hair till your hair is DRY TO THE TOUCH. Make sure you have a fan on and if you can turn on the AC. I know you’ll be cold but this allows for your hair not to frizz up as you’re doing it in sections cause if it frizzed you gotta go over it again. Since it’s winter, you can leave a window open in the bathroom and it should have the same effect but essentially where your blow drying your hair should be COLD. This blow drying matters. If you rinse first, you wash the treatment away. 6. Rinse with water only - After you fully blow dry, rinse your hair thoroughly in the shower. No shampoo. No conditioner. Just water. 7. Blow dry again - Blow dry your hair again until it is completely dry in the same kind of environment. 8. Smooth first, then seal - Optional but very helpful for 4C hair: run a thermal brush through your hair after the second blow dry to smooth and stretch it, so you don’t have to do the comb chase method. 9. Flat iron to seal - This is what makes the results last. Back of head: 4 to 5 slow passes per section. Perimeter and leave out: 7 to 10 slow passes per section. Use 410 to 450°F depending on your hair’s tolerance. Small sections give the best results. You’ll know it’s sealed when your hair is very shiny and looks like you got a relaxer when your done silk pressing it. 10. Aftercare Avoid getting it wet or adding products for the first 72 hours (3 Days). The longer you can go, the better. After that, you can style normally. To maintain results longer, avoid clarifying shampoos and heavy sulfates. I did my treatment on November 27th, 2025 and I can easily go into the first two weeks of February before I get a touch up. I did put deep conditioner in my hair sometime in December and it lowkey made some of it revert back (I use Silicon Mix) but my curl pattern isn’t gone and this treatment has been a big help since I workout a lot and now I can just shampoo my hair weekly with Head and Shoulders, blow dry my hair real good once, and put my half wig or u part wig right back on.

#1 high quality product for soft manageable hair
I’m hooked. The Answr product has my hair healthier and stronger. This product helps to prevent breakage. It works on my natural. I went directly from texturized to Answr and it worked fine. I have been using Answr for about a year. The hair is protected from heat and dries quicker. The product is very gentle and does not have a toxic smell like other keratin treatments. I do the treatment about once a month. I have it on automatic order lol. It is recommended to use sulfate free shampoo for keratin treatments. I still use heat protection when I wash as well. This is the #1 best product.

Maybe not for everyone
I have really thick curly hair, I wasn’t expecting straight results, I just wanted detangling and styling to be a bit easier but after using this I see no difference in my level of frizz. Also, after using this product and then washing my hair, my hair smelled really bad while wet - almost like bad morning breath.

Awesome Salon alternative
Better than the one I get at the salon, faster and less expensive. Very happy with my results on 3c hair. Still have my curl pattern after washing just slightly looser, less voluminous, softer with less frizz. Didn’t smell weird or make my skin itch. Will try on my daughter who is a 4c and see how it works for her.

Worked great!
I have 3B/3C hair and this worked. I could tolerate the smell and I didn’t have any issues with leaving it on. It doesn’t last indefinitely which is good for me because at some point when the weather is warmer I like to wear my hair curly and found my natural curl pattern wasn’t destroyed. Cheaper than some other treatments so worth it to me. And I have color treated hair.

Worked well at first, but not a lasting result
The first time I used it i was happy, my hair was smoother. The shampoo and conditioner dont seem to do anything, and after 2 washes, even using these, my hair was frizzy again. I also find the smell very unpleasant, though it is not very strong, so it's tolerable.

Will strip your color treated hair
This product did leave my hair more manageable, but it stripped the color, especially near the roots. :/ I tested it on the ends, unfortunately I didn’t test it on the roots. Just a heads up!

Works Great on My Fine 3b Hair
For my fine 3b hair, this works better than other at home keratin straightening treatments. Most of the time I blowdry style the front and wear the rest curly. Application is fairly easy: 1. Apply to clean dry hair until it is wet, not dripping (I use gloves and then comb it through) 2. Let it sit 40ish minutes (timing depends on hair thickness) 3. Rinse with plain water 4. Blowdry hair until it is dry 5. Flatiron each section 6 times at 200 degrees Celcius / about 400 degrees Farenheit (I use 350 Fahrenheit) 6. Wait 24+ hours for next wash There are very low to minimal fumes while flatironing this treatment and then afterwards my hair feels soft and conditioned. Other treatments make my eyes and throat burn horribly, leave my hair waxy and stinky, plus cause breakage. Blow drying and/or flatironing after treatment makes my hair nice and straight. Yet my wash and go styles are curly and natural. I can use a light- medium gel to set a looser curl then scrunch out any crunchiness. I am happy with this product and recommend it to those who like having the option of wearing their hair straight or curly.
