I initially purchased one set of these dishes -- and upon receipt, washing, and first use, I immediately ordered a second set. These are simply lovely (and who doesn't want fun, beautiful dishes to show off their culinary masterpieces on, anyway?). The hand painted quality does offer some minor characteristic imperfections which really define these dishes -- they are fun and somewhat rustic. The colors are neither too bright nor too pale. The imperfections in the glass and paint (not noticeable unless you're looking for it) lend to their charming nature, and in no way negatively impact the way the dishes function. I love these dishes and found myself working all sorts of my home decor around these. I especially love the shape of the bowls -- they're not the traditional wide rimmed bowls found in sets available a few years ago. They are narrower yet deeper bowls which are easier to slurp soup out of! I didn't experience any breakage during shipping as some customers complained -- they were dusty and dirty upon unpacking them from the loads of cardboard pieces (between every single piece, very well packaged), but that's nothing a little washing doesn't take care of. Note that I don't wash dishes in a dishwasher as I choose to do them by hand. I also haven't microwaved these, nor do I intend to. I kept a couple of pieces of my old set to microwave on if necessary because I didn't want to take any chances with these. Not that I don't think they'll hold up to microwaving, but because I just value these dishes too much to take the chance.

So I wanted a very colorful set that reflected my style and came across these. I searched around online for a few more weeks but didn't find anything I liked more, so I bought these. The set arrived Saturday, 28 Feb to Fed Ex. I brought it home and fell in love again. The colors are vibrant and I love the fact that it's stoneware. It feels more durable. Unfortunately, one plate arrived broken in half. And to make it worse, it was the yellow dinner plate (and the yellow pattern was the main reason I bought the set). I immediately called Brylane Customer Service and was transferred. I was kind of nervous having read other reviews which claimed bad customer service. But the rep was very nice and asked me which plate I needed replaced. He said it would arrive in 6-10 days. He said I didn't need to return the broken plate so there was no hassle at all. My next concern was that they'd send the wrong color plate. But I needn't have worried. Not only did the plate arrive 4 Mar (the following Wednesday) intact, but it was the correct color too. I'm overjoyed. So far I've only put one cup in the microwave and nothing bad has happened. But I probably won't use these dishes in the microwave much--or at least not for extended periods...I don't want anything to happen to them. But so far, I love the colors and texture and am very happy with them. And Brylane customer service was on point too.

Beautiful set

We needed to lighten up our dinner table, so we ditched our 20-year dishes for this lively-colored set. They are slightly smaller than our old stuff, so they fit better into the cabinets and our lifestyle. But we particularly like the different colored combinations of each set. They're pretty, practical and fun. Just FYI, we ordered an additional, multi-colored set of pasta bowls which are about 8" across. The bowls with the original set are about the right size for cereal or a cup of soup, but a bit too small for a large salad or pasta.

My wife wanted to get these because she liked the colors. When they arrived, the first thing noticed was the colors didn't match the pictures. Now that we have had them for a while, I can tell you they are crap. One of the knives broke when I tried to cut butter. No lie. Then a fork broke when I tried to cut scrambled eggs. Don't waist your money.

Pretty but handle easily breaks from utensil.

The dishes are an excellent product for the money...in the reviews I read there were complaints about the pattern on the cups not going all around - I ordered these for basic everyday use and for that it was fine - I was aware I wasn't ordering fine china. I ordered 3 sets but for some reason 1 set came right away and the other 2 sets took longer. My only complaint is that I can't find matching serving bowls/platters. I tried going on the providers site but all that got me was a barrage of emails from them (ok that's another complaint) but over all I'm happy with the cheerful dinnerware

Beautiful, fun, no defects in product. Have been using for a few months now and they've held up perfectly to normal dinnerware use, microwaving, and hand washing. Very happy with this purchase!
