Well that took me by surprise.
To begin with I am an Apple fan. I love the Apple ecosystem, the way all Apple devices interconnect and transfer data between them.BUT the Poco X7 Pro reviews on YouTube were tempting me to try an Android phone again at a price that didn’t involve me having to sell my body parts to pay for it. I took a risk and ordered the Poco in the yellow and boy am I glad I did. What an absolutely stunning phone for the money. Slick, smooth and with a gorgeous screen. My biggest issue with any Android phone I’ve played with before is the poor video capture. Every phone has been a disappointment with stuttery recording and constant focus hunting, something that Apple have nailed for years. The Poco, however does an excellent job in this department with buttery smooth 4K at 60fps.I could go on but instead I’ll just say that if you’re tempted to buy this phone just do it. I doubt you will be unhappy with the purchase. Well done Poco.

Really nice phone at a respectable price, definitely worth it!
Switching to this phone from a Nokia 8.1 was an absolute breeze, since I could use the Google data transfer thing to do it easily. The screen is excellent, smooth and responsive at 120 Hz. Plenty of storage at least for me, and there was little bloatware on the device, and whatever bloatware there was was very easy to uninstall. It is way faster than the phone I had before, and it can comfortably run most games at a smooth 60/120 fps. For me, it was great value for money, since this phone can rival other flagship phones on the market right now. The battery life is alright, nothing major, but the 90W quick charging makes up for it as it can charge in around half an hour. The phone itself looks quite sleek, nothing amazing since it is just a thin brick with a screen, but the camera quality is solid as well, and all of the physical buttons work perfectly. However, it's slightly disappointing that it doesn't come with a charger in the UK, but it did come with a phone ring, which was nice.

Great value phone, happy with Xiaomi's Poco offerings so far.
Bought for my wife, I already own an X6 Pro and that's still working just fine a year later. Good value for money and good performance, main problem would be the camera, but it's generally the biggest compromise for mid range and budget phones, it does the job but not amazing so don't expect too much and you'll be fine.

Battery eater on standby
I have been using it for a week now and am getting to know it. At first use there's the usual setting up to do, this was made very easy as you can link via bluetooth to you old phone and copy across all your settings including your email accounts, apps, contacts and wifi logins/passwords. Bad news is there's a load of pre-installed rubbish to get rid of after you've done this.and it tries to get you to put more on even as you're removing it. Next piece of bad news is the battery life. In normal use it's not too bad, a full charge will just about get you through the day, BUT putting it into standby doesn't appear to do much. My old xiaomi on 100% put onto standby typically loses about 3 or 4% when left on standby overnight. This model however will go from 100% to 59% overnight!! I turn off the usual stuff bluetooth etc but this doesn't make any difference. I will try to play about with the settings to see if I can stop this, but I am not hopeful. edit- another foible - holding down the power button does NOT turn it off. I had to go rooting around in the settings to alter it so that it does so - the default setting is power+up buttons together.

WiFi issues
Have had this phone for a little over two months and really like it - fast, slim, decent sized display and great battery life: I frequently get 4 days between charges, but unfortunately I'm returning it as the WiFi has started randomly losing connection. This has only started in the last couple of weeks which is odd as I've changed nothing and the phone is set to not auto update anything, as I like to decide whether to update the o/s and apps. The WiFi shows as connected but often doesn't work, and the only way to get it working again is to toggle it off and back on, which I'm simply not prepared to do.I've found a few reports of this happening to other owners, so it's bye, bye Poco which is such a pain, as it's back to square one again looking for a decent mobile phone that actually does what it's supposed to 🙄

Very impressed.
I'm really impressed. My fold 3 broke so I needed a quick replacement until new foldables come out in May/June. At 299, it's cheaper than the nothing 3a(which was my initial choice). Processor is almost similar to a Sgen2 but just a bit hotter if pushed which is not a problem for non power users. Battery last double the time than my fold3 and charges a lot faster(I have an 80watt OnePlus brick and works fine). Ram at 12gb and another 8gb extension is just perfect to handle multiple apps. Memory, 512gb of space it's more than enough and it's fast enough. That 1 main camera and the AI helping it, it's quite impressive and I don't feel that I'm penalised that I chose a budget phone to take pictures. Obviously, you don't have a lot of choice, but you can manage just fine for a daily. Screen is a good size and bright enough even in direct sunlight. Speakers are loud(a bit of distortion at 100%) and it has Bluetooth 5.3 which can handle 2 devices at the same time. Only bad thing is that it only has 3yrs of support and 4 of security updates but for £300 it's enough. Being used to flagships for the last 12yrs, I am really impressed what you can get for so little money nowadays. If you're a power user like me, you'll need a flagship. Sustained gaming it's a no no and ultrawide camera is a joke. But otherwise, great phone. Not a lot of bloatware and easy to clean and setup. Good android 15 variant with nice touches to help the UI. Design is meh( I got the green one) and case choices are limited and not super nice. You'll need a pop socket or ring cause it's difficult to handle it 1 handed.
