Admittedly, my cats are a bit spoiled. I have an eight-year-old female and a male who is just over a year old. They have never eaten anything but premium cat food. I free-feed Blue Buffalo kibble and rotate a large variety of premium canned foods. The kibble is always there for them, and they don't overeat; plus, I split a 5 oz. (or thereabouts) can of premium cat food for them in the morning and, if they have finished what I gave them in the morning, I'll split another can for them in the late afternoon if they ask, as long as they have eaten what I had given them in the morning. I also feed a couple of feral/stray cats outside. I'll bring them a bowl of kibble each morning, and I'll give them whatever my own cats won't eat or, if there are no leftovers, I'll bring them a 5 oz. serving of premium food. Neither of my cats would even try the ZIWI food, and the older one would make the digging motions that she does alongside her bowl to let me know what she thinks should be done with that food. I brought it outside for the feral cats. Nearly always, they would go for the canned food first and come back later for the kibble. However, when presented with the ZIWI food, they went for the kibble and ate only a little of the ZIWI food. There are times when my cats will reject a food only to accept it on another day so, since I bought a case of this stuff, I tried it with them a few other times, and they wouldn't touch it. Noticing that the bowl that I put the KIWI food in outdoors would be empty by the next morning, I assumed that the cats were coming back for it later, so at least it wouldn't go to waste. However, when I put a camera out there, I found that raccoons were eating it. I gave a can of it to a friend who usually feeds store-brand cat food to her cat, but she told me that her cat wouldn't eat it either. Since I have a case of the stuff, I have continued to put it outdoors, yet the feral cats will take a few bites of it, which is more than my cats would do, but it was mostly raccoon food. I am giving it three stars because, oddly enough, the ingredients are great. I have little doubt that this would be a healthy choice for any cat that would eat it. Cats are individuals and ZIWI has been in existence for a while now, so I am sure that there are plenty of other cats who love the stuff. My experience, however, has not been good. I will also point out that there are other brands of perfectly good cat food that my cats won't touch, but this is the first time that I have come across something that the feral cats won't eat. Then again, I've been feeding them every morning for a few years now.

Reviewed Oct 23, 2024 (Mackerel) The 5 cats we have ate it, but struggled quite a bit with it due to how dry it was. Once I added some water it improved it for them. The cans have a tab lift system for the lid, and very easy to open. I like the amount in the cans, since I don't need to open several to feed them. Once they finish these I won't purchase again, as they walked away and kept coming back to it, versus finishing it all in one sitting.

I was rather hessitant to purchase this cat food at first. I am very impressed with the quality of the food. All 7 of my Cats all like it so much so I now have it on a subscribe and save. Sorry some of the reviews from people had issues. All I can say is that even when purchasing food for humans the human factor is not perfect but Amazon's customer service and commitment to their customers can not be beat. I and my Cats are very happy with the ZIWI Mackeral Cat Food. Thank you seller!

Normally My little one loves this flavor. This is My first at trying this brand. I wanted something Without Grains or fillers. It has chick peas in it. She will not eat it. A total waste of money.

But they’re not that into Ziwi, that’s not a bad thing I think.
