I'm always skeptical of online reviews. But this unit earns and deserves its high ratings. Easy to set up, easy to operate. The app has worked flawlessly. The unit quickly cools the hot upstairs hallway and bedroom with ease. The dehumidify function works great, too. It's pretty humid here (ranging from 65-85%), and this thing makes a noticeable difference you can feel. As for noise, it's not bad at all. It is definitely quieter than a box fan, but a little more so than a white noise generator. But I typically have it on the highest fan speed. Lower speeds are quieter, of course. I also monitor our daily electric usage. We're in the middle of an unpleasant heat wave, so this is running quite a lot. I was surprised that it really hasn't added much to the electric usage. If you're on the fence about spending the money on a portable unit, this is worth the price. I'm pleased with it and would recommend it! UPDATE: Still very pleased with this unit. It did so well in our home that I decided to put this in my workshop and run the venting and drain through the wall. Works perfectly and is able to comfortably cool and decrease the humidity in my shop!

PERFECT so far! I've had this for a few months. I'm using this in a small 12x12 upstairs, south-facing bedroom with no tree cover that becomes the hottest room in the house. I work nights so I also have heavy blackout curtains too and when our central A/C is sent at 68, this bedroom can be 74 or 75 according to a little room thermometer I have! And that's way too hot for me. The room has one tiny vent for the home's central air that is worthless, so I needed more cooling, so a unit like this was my best option. The hookup was simple with the necessary items to install the hose into the window. I did it with a very non-handy friend of mine so it was very easy, and its working great! I have a thermometer in the room and can tell easily its working. My thermometer also tells me the humidity in the room and the A/C obviously reduces that too. ***I am not using the removable water tray or dehumidifier function on this A/C unit because its not necessary unless the room humidity is around 85% - (like maybe a hot garage or something may be), this bedroom seems to usually stay around 50% humidity since there is SOME air conditioning from the home's central air system. I'm betting if this was in a home without central air, you may go ahead and turn that dehumidifier function on, but I do not. The remote is a great feature, or I also downloaded the app but usually I just use the remote. Either is simple and both work fine. Its only the end of May, so the real test will be July and August, but so far, its making my bedroom cool to sleep comfortably. If there are any problems later in the dead of summer, I'll update. If not, I won't and this review will stand. This is an excellent unit, and great looking in the black, at a great price. Best purchase I've made in years!!! Anything that helps us sleep better is worth its weight in gold for sure!

I have had this unit for around 11 months. It works great, and it's really quiet. The app works, the remote works, I've had to clean the filters a few times which was really easy. I do recommend getting the app so you can download firmware updates. I have had about 6 units and this is the best one I've ever had by far, which is surprising since it only has one tube for the exhaust. This is a safe buy. I use it in a medium sized bedroom but it ends up cooling most of the upstairs and that's with leaving a door open so my dog can use the patio at anytime. It's a really impressive unit. I have not noticed the outside air coming into the unit, as one reviewer states, I don't even think it's possible since it has just one tube that only blows in one direction. It's never created funky odors. Not sure why his outside air smells like wet dogs he should get that checked out.

I received my Dreo 12,000 BTU AC unit on November 1st and have been using it daily since then. I live in South Florida and we are still somewhere between 81° and 85° during the day. The room where this AC was installed is just less than 200 square ft. but it's actually an open room that also shares a long hallway and a stairwell to the upper level of my townhouse. This room is separated by heavy light blocking and insulating drapery. This room also has 2 older windows in it and is also next to the front door. My home is a rental and the windows and doors are not newer so there are a lot of issues with warm air coming in through all the gaps. Just to set the mood of the room and give everyone a good picture of the space that I need to keep cool. The unboxing of the Dreo 12,000 BTU Portable AC was concerning because I was replacing a much larger 14,000 BTU unit of a different brand. I was concerned about the size difference. In my opinion the new Dreo unit is tiny in comparison and I had my doubts after discovering how small it really is that it would cool my living space. I am impressed. So glad I gave this tiny, feature rich portable AC unit the chance it well deserves. And I love the app too! This AC unit kicks hot air's butt and brings such an amazing and comfortable cool to my living space. I am NOT disappointed at all. I do have a socket fan above where I sit and also a tower fan that oscillates to help with air circulation. I doubt I'd be able to get away with this much comfort without these fans but again, I live in South Florida and fans are a must down here for many residents. Some of the features in the app are pretty cool. You can set on/off timers and also set the temperature at which you'd like the room to be cooled. That temperature can be pre programmed to change to whatever you choose as well. There is an ECO mode that I am currently testing out. So far that mode maintains the temperature really well. The app tells you how many hours your AC unit has been running and you can set a reminder in hours as to when to clean the filters. I definitely appreciate that function. There is a sensor the tells the app the water level in the drip pan. This unit is generally self evaporating unless the dehumidifier function is in use, then it says to install the continual drain hose. There are more features. I've only listed a few. All in all I am very impressed with my new Dreo 12,000 BTU portable AC unit. Two more little features that I truly appreciate. This unit is quiet compared to my 14,000 BTU unit from another brand. And I have control over temperature regulation and monitoring the unit itself while I'm away as long as I have wifi enabled at home. I hope my review assists in making the decision to give this awesome compact portable AC a chance to cool a room in your home as well.

The A/C unit arrived yesterday. It was a little on the heavy side but I was able to pick it up and bring it inside, just lift with your legs and not your back. The unit was packaged well and nothing was damaged. It took me about 30mins to set up the window insert and another 5-10 mins to plug it in, download the app, and setup an account. I didn't use the adhesive insulation as there wasn't the need. I cut triple strips of the non-adhesive insulation for each of the four sides around the window. Once I placed the insert into the open window, I closed the window and held it down using additional force to seal the area. Next, I put the window locks I purchased separately on each side of the window frame. The locks held the window down tight and I then removed my hand from the window. This provided a tight seal around the insert. Next, I attached the exhaust tube after extending it slightly (Keep unit close as possible to the window. Placing the unit on a stand to elevate it will help). I ordered an insulation sleeve for the exhaust tube as recommended. Finally, I plugged the power cord into an outlet and turned the unit on. Ice cold air immediately flowed from the unit, putting a smile on my face, my wife's face, and our German shepherd "Rick James' " face. We had our home built in 2013, so it's a fairly new home. Unfortunately, the U-shapped design of the home makes master bedroom difficult to cool in the way too hot summers here in Boise, Idaho. My wife and I are cold weather people and anything over 70 degrees outside is too hot. We keep our house at 57-59 degrees in the fall and winter as this is the temperature we like. During the summer, we try to keep the house at 65 degrees. However, the master bedroom feels like a sauna. This is the reason we purchased this unit. Well, we slept like babies last night! The unit kept our bedroom at a cool 63 degrees all night. The unit is quiet, intuitive, sleek, and modern. I recommend this product so far.

Worked so well this past summer. So hot in my apartment, but immediately cools to a comfortable temp. Window kit set up in my dining room and cools kitchen, dining, and living room. Heavy and sturdy. Materials feel durable. Remote works great and can control from my phone so I man walk into a cool house or keeps pets cool while away. Can keep an eye on indoor temp via the app as well. So glad I splurged on this brand. Ended up buying Dreo tower fans for bedrooms and they are awesome too. Believe the high ranked reviews, this brand is better than the usual big names.

My honest review.. I normally don't leave any reviews.. I purchased this because i play video games and I truly get hot. My room itself will get extremely hot with my PC and i've had days of my room getting up to 80-86 degrees. I'll admit that temp is horrible to game in. I purchased this in hopes that it would truly help. I received my order a few days ago and have ran it throughout each night. I also ran it while I was off work today and played video games. This fan is so amazing! It blows ICE cold air. I run super hot and have never been frozen until now. Not only is it comfortable as heck to game for as long as I like. But sleeping is sooooooooo amazing now! I keep the AC on fan level 1 and can sleep peacefully all night long. I am shocked that something was finally able to cool my room down completely while I game. While gaming today and it being hot outside. My room stayed as a comfortable 72 degrees with the AC being set to 73. The AC also doesn't run 24/7. It only runs when it detects the temp going up and then will turn off which is amazing. The app is also flawless on the phone. Installation was pretty simple, the Remote control is perfect if you don't want the app, however the app is way quicker. For what I paid, I can say it was worth every single penny. I may update this review in the coming months to update whether i still love it or if i have any issues

The window installation is not as time consuming as it seems. The adhesive tape is very sticky and foam is weak so make sure you don't touch the sticky part or it will tear the foam when you try to pull it off. I'd recommend you installing the window hose before you attach it to the plastic window cover to prevent any damages to the window cover. I've already had a DREO smart fan so the app was easy to use. After plugging it in, the startup was quick and easy, the color display was bright and nice. Now the negatives... I'm not sure if my model was a used one since it was missing a few things... Each of these were listed as included on the booklet, it was missing the: Drain hose (to let the built up water exit without hassle) Remote battery (to control the device) L-shape window lock and screws (to prevent opening the window from the outside for security) 2 week update: The AC was working fine, but the weather here jumped up from the 70's to mid 80's in just a day. Now there's water built up and leaking all over the place, the wood tile floor is warping because it was leaking for a while and no one noticed. As I previously mentioned, the drainage hose wasn't included/missing in our package so we got nothing to drain the water out yet until we buy one separately. Very displeased... a missing piece of rubber tube resulted in all this water damage... 1 Month & FINAL UPDATE!! The company finally sent a replacement for missing parts last week. To set it up, I placed it on top of 2 benches to make sure that the hose will send the water right down and not get stuck before reaching the jug. I wanted to try it out based on some of the other reviewer's experiences so I connected the hose to a .5 Gal. jug of Tropicana orange juice and I was going to wait a few days. BIG MISTAKE!! After a few hours and the 1/2 Gal. jug was overflowing and leaking water everywhere. If I had connected the hose to a pot of plant, that plant would've drowned in a few hours. I got a couple of old recycled 5 Gal. water Jugs and connected it to that immediately. So I thought, maybe now I wont have to empty the water out for a while. WRONG!! I took a power rest and when I woke up, it was 7hrs and time for work. It only took 7 hrs, and already half the jug was filled, that's 2.5 Gals in 7 hrs!! So why does the product get a low score? Not because for it's ability to cool down my bedroom, that part it does just fine, but I could've done the same with a window AC, and then I wouldn't have to give up indoor and floor space or even keep track of it as often. I got it so I wouldn't have to deal with the water overflowing mess. That was the whole point of this "Air Conditioner for Bedroom with Drainage-free Cooling". THAT WAS A COMPLETE FAIL. There are plenty of OTHER LOWER-COSTING portable AC's around that are Alexa compatible, but this was the only one that claimed to be "DRAINAGE-FREE". *Sigh* Well... it's been a few days over a month... so I'm stuck with it, don't make my same mistake... Look elsewhere buddies~
