VOCOlinc Door Alarm Magnetic Window Locks Contact Sensor Wireless Smart Doorbell Chime (1PACK)

This is a must-have smart accessory if you're into building a smart home with HomeKit. I didn't know I needed these until I splurged on a 2-pack. Now, whenever I walk into either my front or my side door, the hallway lights turn on for me so that I can see after sundown. I also have the sensors set to trip an alarm system if the doors open when nobody registered to the home is currently in the house. The sensors themselves are sleek and much smaller than they look in the photos. They are subtle and you hardly notice them when they're on your door or window. What I like the most about the sensors is that they work via magnetic field detection, which allows you some freedom in terms of how you set them up. For instance, they don't have to align perfectly, in case you have a doorframe that protrudes out beyond the door by a centimeter or two (see video for demonstration). A subtle green ring lights up that alerts you when it detects the door opening or closing. The sensors work super quickly - when the door opens they instantly turn the lights on. The setup process was very seamless. I find HomeKit devices to be variable in terms of how setup-friendly they are, and in general, VOCOlinc's products have never given me problems (I've been sticking with them since VOCOlinc first ever popped up on Amazon). HomeKit devices in the past for me have also been variable in terms of general lagginess, and again, I've never had a problem with VOCOlinc's devices, this one included. I can't comment personally on the battery life, but VOCOlinc advertises 6 month battery life. I did appreciate that VOCOlinc included two coin batteries in the box, as well as more than enough 3M adhesive to help you attach the sensor to whatever surface you fancy. My one and only complaint is that I see VOCOlinc does not recommend using this as a refrigerator door sensor - I don't have a fridge that beeps at me when I forget to close it all the way, so I was hoping to use this to alert me, but it appears that because of the magnetic nature of the device, the fridge application may not work. Overall, I highly recommend this product for any smart home with HomeKit. It enables you to use your doors and windows as triggers for events including lights, alarms, scenes, and more, and this particular sensor is no-fuss and easy to set up and implement, and it works super quickly.

These sensors worked great, I set them up to control the lights in my room, whenever I open the door, the lights turn on and only turn on if there are no lights on already in the room. The distance threshold between the contact and the sensor is perfect, it allows for there to be some distance between the door sensor and the contact on the door frame. With HomeKit integration you can use these sensors to do a number of things from turn on lights, to activating flashing lights and sirens when the door is opened, to playing your favorite song or even turning on the tv when you enter the room, there are so many possibilities. Out of the box these sensors were so easy to setup, you simply install batteries, hold the button on sensor till it blinks, and follow on screen instructions for setup in the vocolinc app. Some things that i would have liked to see this product have is: A battery life indicator within the app. A built-in Rechargeable Battery A small speaker to chime when the door is opened Pros: - Comes with extra sticky pads in case you mess up the placement. (Which I did) Small and light weight. Batteries Included - Works with HomeKit. Cons: - Battery life is only six months. There is no battery life indicator within the app, that I know of. Overall, I am very happy with these and will be purchasing more for all the door’s around my house.

These are great HomeKit door sensors. I haven’t tried any others but I’m at super satisfied by how well these work. I was worried about how mountable the contact is and how well Bluetooth would work but the sensor has a bit of space so it doesn’t have to butt up right next to the magnet and so far the the there haven’t been any drop outs or false readings so far. I am worried about battery life. They say it gets 6 months which doesn’t seam like a lot so hopefully they can make the software more efficient and get that number higher. I am had a bit of trouble mounting it but I think that’s because my wall isn’t flush (it has a texture behind the paint). Finally wished they hadn’t put the HomeKit sticker on the front. It would have been a lot nicer to have it on the back where nobody can see. Overall super happy with the sensors though.

Son perfectos para HomeKit, el único detalle es el alcance pero eso es problema de bluetooth. La respuesta del sensor es muy rápida. He comprado 4 y pienso comprar otros dos a menos. La batería se Cambia rápido, es fácil de Cambiar, barata y dura mucho (como año y medio) y además son los más baratos que he visto. Súper recomendables

A pesar de ser un buen producto, solo funciona de manera automática si tienes los demás aditamentos.

Buenos para detectar aperturas de puertas, ventanas, Cajones, etc

Funciona perfecto con homekit y shortcuts. Los use para automatizar que se prendan los focos al abrir ciertas puertas. El paquete incluye 2 sensores con sus respectivas pilas y los adhesivos; volveré a comprar más cuando los requiera.

Las alertas tardan en llegar y la reacción de la automatización es de acción muy retardada.
