Ryka Women's Enhance Aerobics Shoe

I am in 3 Jazzercise classes and the instructor recommended RYKA. Honestly, I had not heard of the brand name. However, I and ordered the RYKA Enhanced Aerobics Shoes in a size 10.5 (I wanted room for my socks and comfort when moving). The shoes are perfect. I feel as though I have nothing on my feet. The toebox is wide and the shoes are actually shaped more like my feet. After using the shoes for the first time, I knew I had a winner. My feet felt good, my ankles were fine and I didn't feel the pressure on my knees. So, a big 5 stars for RYKA. I might add that I love this style because of the extra protection for the ankles. I plan to buy at least 3 more pairs. I highly recommend these shoes.

After reading the only review for this shoe (posted on 7/20), I began to regret ordering it and considered returning it immediately after I received it. However, once I received it and tried it on, the fit was just perfect. I walked around in it a few times and did not get any pain in my arches. It's a pretty attractive and simple, yet breathable shoe with excellent traction and ample ankle coverage that still allows flexibility in movement. Needless to say, I was able to jump and swing my arms in my fitness class yesterday without having to worry about slipping, even on concrete floor.

I want to preface this review with the fact that I have worn Ryka aerobic sneakers since the 1990's. I have essentially been a lifelong fan. They always provided me with lateral stability, arch and ankle support and a nice roomy toe box. More importantly, they provided a shock absorbing cushioning to protect my knees while performing high impact aerobic moves. I always know when it is time to retire my old aerobic sneakers because I start to feel some knee pain. I only wear my shoes for aerobic classes so they tend to last me at least six months to a year. I was so excited to get my new pair in the mail but then was horrified by the cheap and shoddy construction and cheap stiff material. The shoe is so cheap and the foam soles had cracks and marked compression after one hour's use!! Moreover, my knee was killing me. WEARING THEM IS LIKE BEING BAREFOOT! There is no cushioning for the ball of the foot. What an awful rip off this shoe is!! RYKA shame on you!! You are trading on a name that has a reputation, but if you continue to sell shoddy goods the aerobics community will catch on!! My guess is that the company is using cheaper materials to maximize their profits, but I would pay double for a better quality shoe!! It is so disappointing to see the downward spiral of this shoe. I think the people giving good reviews for this shoe have no clue. Wearing a Ryka aerobic shoe used to be like wearing a cloud. There was shock absorption! Now I feel like I am pounding the pavement. I recently found an old pair of Rykas from ten years ago in the closet. Interestingly,even used and abused, they feel more cushiony inside than the new ones.

These are the first dance sneakers I've ever bought, so unfortunately I can't compare them to other dance sneakers. I bought them specifically for zumba class but I also wear them for kickboxing class. These sneaks are comfortable when you first put them on. There is plenty of room in the toe area. However after wearing them for some time, you realize they lack a real sense of support. I can't wear them for more than a few hours. Also the tongue wears hard on my shin. I unlaced the top holes and that helped. I will say they are very light and good for dancing. And they are comfortable enough if you're not wearing them too long. All in all, not the best, but decent.

the materials are think and the plastic reinforcements on the outer part of the shoe are hard. I had an oder model of this shoe that had blue accents and the rubber on that one was much better and had better shock absorption. I bought 2 pairs of these shoes because I loved my other older pair so much.within a couple days the rubber sole n the toe part of one of the pairs started to come off. that was a bummer. I can't glue it back on wither die to the curve of the toe, it just won't stick. so I ended up with one good pair. I wear these for work and I love the ankle support ( I have terrible ankles and feet) so these shoes make my feet feel more supported due to the fit. just with they were made better and have a but more cushion.

This is the 4th pair of Ryka shoes I have owned. I wear them until they wear out. They are very comfortable and wear well; form fitting in the heal without being too snug and enough room in the toe area for movement without being sloppy fitting. I think they are an attractive shoe also. I use them for work mainly and as a nurse, I do a lot of walking. When these wear out, I will most definitely buy another pair of Rykas!

I guess if you had no specific expectations for the shoe, and it ft you well, there'd be no reason to complain. Quick service, nicely wrapped. The shoe is pretty and very very light. It has more "grip" in the heavier sole.Unfortunately it is a totally different shaped shoe from the previous Studio D. This shoe is so wide in the toe for me it can't be worn. It actually looks odd, flaring out. Even if laced snuggly, the level of support does not compare to the previous model. I am so sad.I have 3 pairs of the older style and wanted something similar. (I've worn out 2 pairs of black ones over the years, and loved them). I have the silver ones, but they are light and ventillated like this Enhance Aerobics Shoe. Fine for summer, fine for dance. I wanted another pair of the black leather mid Studio D. I had to send these back. Waaaaaaa!

This is a terrific studio shoe for kick boxing and other aerobic workouts. It gives great support yet is flexible. I love the high fit at the ankle and have purchased this shoe numerous times. It wears well and maintains its support and comfort, even with daily use. Highly recommended!
